Is it being made by someone with experience in manufacturing such pieces?
Yes, they are huge. I understand they make som already. I asked if it would hold 400hp, and was told it easily holds 1000hp. I just can not name the name here since they do not support the forum.

That is a completely ridiculous policy on the part of the forum, because it's not as if any forum sponsors can/will make this.
So, this won't be their first CF driveshaft.
What kind of weight?
Can they do custom? (I'm not exactly running a standard length driveshaft anymore.)
What kind of cost?
Well I guess I can post. It is monster transmission. Nothing is set in stone yet. I personally want a new type clutch and flywheel, but they want a CF driveshaft.
How much? I don't know yet. We are in beginning stages of discussion. They seem to be really interested though, so thats good news. We can always use new parts.

Are they saying this will cure the vibration/noise we, aftermarket clutch owners have ?

probably not. I thought that was a problem with the flywheels, right?
it should increase response through the driveline like a lightened flywheel.
I have tried a Spec 2+ and now an Exedy clutch, both with the stock flywheel and both ring like hell, so my opinion is: by introducing a different mu slip curve (friction properties), we create a squwak like condition where the driveline just ring. The variables to attenuate this could be damping and/or torsional stiffness and/or rotational inertia change. I would have thought going to a lighter flywheel should have helped this, but we have members that tried the lighter flywheel with no success...so the solution could be in the damping and/or the torsional stiffness. It would be interesting to try a CF drive shaft, CF is going to increase stiffness...

Any WAG projections on weight savings? Orders of magnitude, anything?

One nice thing about CF driveshafts is that their failuremode is to turn into a "broom"
I dunno if you've ever had a steel or cro-moly shaft let go, but it's very scary. Especially if the vehicle didnt have loops....

The piece is going to be an inch thicker then stock but substantially lighter. You figure the
gxp loses about 40hp from crank to the actual wheel transfer. My guess will be 7-25hp
increase. No price yet, but guess around 1500. Should have some pics pretty soon.
