I can't speak for your cylinder liner problems without doing my own post-mortem (there's numerous ways liners can be hurt, most related to factors other than the liners themselves), but I can speak with assurance that both GM Racing and my own company have consistently pressed stock liners for 400-500 HP with zero issues. We both consider the failure point to be 600 HP.
That $3500 is not a misprint. In the GM hipo build boot, it lists aftermarket rockers. I forget which company it was, but I called them and it was $3500 for the rockers and pushrods.
I understand you get great HP out of your motors, but as you can see I am so disappointed with the build of the motor that was in my car. It was not just one thing that went, but several. The more info I get after the fact the more I believe the tuning and build of my motor was crap.
I do believe what you are saying about the Liners. However, I think it is a very subjective statement. This will totally vary depending on what type of tune your are running in your car, and by tune I mean boost level etc etc . What I mean by this is, I don't think the liners will last the same running at 22 psi vs 8 psi.
I also understand that what I am saying takes away from the business you are in. I am not trying to bad mouth the turbo business, but I am expressing another opinion. That is what this thread was about, turbo or LS2 sawp.
As I have said before, to build my motor back to where I was comfortable, it was going to cost me $10k plus. Now, I am going to end up with a motor with more hp than I had before at a far lower stress level.
Now I will say that if I had it to do all over again, I would have brought my car to you (because I wanted a turbo from the start) and had you install your kit. Out of the kits I have looked at, I think yours seems to be the most reliable.
