Now THAT's different. Can get expensive though.

No question there, but it will be a little more street friendly at least. I guess I have to compromise a bit as I do like driving a lot. I'd love to be able to drop a done up LS7 in it, but it's just not practical (well, as far as owning a hot rod Solstice can be practical).

I don't know, a little throttle management it should be pretty street friendly. The power will be there, you don't HAVE to use it.

Talked to V8 archie today. He told me with an LS2 gauges, A/C, everything should work.

proggod, this is over-kill for me, but kind of along the same lines I'm thinking:

http://www.campbellautomotive.com/mo...=21&page_id=38

For some real crazy turbo stuff:
http://www.campbellautomotive.com/mo...=25&page_id=42
http://www.hotrod.com/projectbuild/h...ild/index.html

For now it's all just dreaming. But, I'm liking this idea more and more. The best part is I could always just do a bone stock LS2 (or LS3) swap and then add the turbos somewhere done the line. Who knows. Maybe Hahns will have a wicked 2.0 upgrade and I'll be happy with that.

Heh sometimes too much horsepower is just overkill. My viper gets annoying to drive sometimes, i have a hard time keeping my pedal off the floor. Then I regret it when i get out with my aching back from being jolted around

Nice... I love the Vipers. Never had the opportunity to ride in one though, a little (a lot!) out of my price range. That's why I like the Solstice so much. It's a lot of performance for a decent price (considering the cost of other comparable vehicles). And it's a good platform to work from, rear wheel drive, full frame, non-integral body panels, wide engine bay.

Just bring it to us! We can turbo the 2.4L or swap in an LS2 or how about a turbo LS2? Anything you want to do we can do it!

I do like the idea of the V8 swaps, but there's also a certain purity to keeping the car four-cylinder powered as intended. With today's technology, there's so much to be achieved without having to resort to brute cubic inches!

simple route: power - weight, or torque... pic 1.

more complicated analysis: Do you want it to still handle really well? how much are you willing to hack the car up?

I'm sorry but the age old addage, "There's no replacement for displacement" rings so true. I had a very worked on turbo (330 to the wheels), and the thing scattered itself into a lump of garbage due to a broken rocker. IMO, the rockers in this engine are not good for that much more hp. I know many will say Chevy says 500, but I have a pile of junk to prove otherwise! As for the purists, I say do what you like, screw what the purists think.
