hi i just got a black on black solstice the regular one not the gxp and i need help with a cold air intake wat company is reccomened and which one gives the most horsepower
I have a gxp but I personally think that You should get the cold air intake that is certified by GM, so you don't void a waranty. The link below is the link to a GM Cold Air Intake.
Because your car is naturally asperated, which means you don't have a turbo or supercharger currently. I would highly recommend that you plan on doing the exhaust as well in the near future of the CAI.

Save your money and time and just pop a replacement K&N air filter in the existing airbox. Its pulling air from up front, can't get much colder than that. Factorys design is not that bad.

You're not really going to feel any performance gains until you have the car specifically tuned for that amount of air flow. The real benefit at this point is the sound it makes. You hear the rush of air going in, where the OEM airbox has silencers that really limit what you hear. The whole front part of your airbox is made to silence the sound.
I would say any of them create the same sound. I have the Fujita and love it. Just make sure that you have a dry filter on the end, not an oiled one...or you will have MAF sensor codes for the oil getting on it.
I have a Fujita CAI and I am quite happy with it. The performance improvement was noticable.

K & N is more restrictive than the stock factory CAI.
Fujita is the best, I called them, got data. The dual I no longer need is a fraction higher in flow than a single and it is something I have not head of anyone doing on a Solstice.
So if you are new here, my advice is read up and consider starting at the pavement.
Pontiac has with the BASE offered up a platform that gives us the opportunity to experiment and tinker with many modifications, some good and some bad.

And the sound from the GM CAI is awesome I might add. It's like getting the car all over again.
I installed GM CAI before I installed cat back exhaust. Made a big differance in sound even with stock exhaust. Can here the air rushing into engine. I can even here mine taking gulps when I am shifting while accelerating. Now with the new exhaust it sounds like a tuned instrument...I have the monsoon sound system and hardly ever turn it on...

Ive got the GM CAI and CatBack exhaust and i love them both. The CAI is better for NA cars anyways, it is less restrictive then the oem box and makes the engine work less to pull air in on the intake stroke.
