Mallet anyone?

Has anyone gotten this mod done? If so how far did you go with it, and how is it working out..Just wondering what a 800 hp solstice would do if you slammed it.. I think it would just float

Location: We skipped the light fandango turned cartwheels 'cross the floor I was feeling kinda seasick but the crowd called out for more The room was humming harder as the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink and the waiter brought a tray.
There are several dozen out there in Sol and Sky disguises. A local Pontiac dealer in SE Wis (actually, owner of the dealership) has one of the first 10, if I recall correctly. It's a literal bat-outta-hell car. I saw the enigine bay first hand. Amazing how the V8 looks so "natural" under the bonnet.

Careful those these days with that team - I have heard rumors abounding their demise and bankruptcy.

That's my #2 issue.. #1 is that they are Florida.. so what happens if something goes wrong.

That's one of things I am worried about.. just went through it with my Wifes' Saleen Mustang... no support.. no more warranty.. no nuttin' oh wait, they still offer parts at a "dealer discount" to Saleen owners...

Needless to say she now had a Lincoln MKS.. We brought it down to get the HID light replaced (the dealer was nice enough to do the work for free, we pay for the part) so when we were waiting the dealership's owner had a friend THERE LOOKING for a White Saleen so we just stepped in.. well you know and got lucky to get a decent amount for it on the trade, got the MKS and the Saleen is in Ca. now..

Mallet is gone. There is a thread about it on the Sky forum.

What he said. At least these guys won't be going any where any time soon. They will be in business for a long time because they cater to other car manufactures too.

Interesting last couple of comments because I've been wondering what the status is of Mallet cars, any new news since they were shut down? Also, I knew V8 Archie did one V8 installation several years ago, and he's built quite a loyal following in the Fiero community. I went to his site and could find nothing about installing V8s in Kappas.
Werks does seem like the only one involved in promoting the continuation of installing LS engines in Kappa's. I've been actively following their DIY thread but haven't seen anything posted lately.
Point being, if you're considering doing this, it seems like you'd want to go with someone who has promoting this service and has established a reputation.
As these cars (Kappa's) get cheaper and cheaper, more and more people may want to go the V8 route with them. Especially if you believe the days of V8s being offered in cars is numbered.

I'm not sure if this is too off topic, but after I was looking around for a while the cleanest install I found was the one done my Wade's Garage although I'm not sure if he's still around. This is just based off of what i've read here and over at solsticelsx about the various swaps by mallett and werks.

There are a ton of Mallett owners at solsticelsx.com if you want to ask questions.

Hello from what Ive read Wade did do nice work, though im not sure if its any better than Mallett, Really doesnt matter as both are out of business. Werks will do it and V-8 Archie is still around as he just replaced the ls1 with a Ls3 in his Solstice. Oh and if I dont get any further business I will be out too, LOL. Thanks Norm

just love this video

Here is the build thread Archie made of the V8 install:

Take a Solstice apart with Archie

Archie had his V8 Solstice on ebay recently w/ a new LS3:
