Supercharger vs gxp

Which is faster:
A DDM stage I supercharged Solstice with dual exhaust
or a stock Solstice GXP
How much difference?

pretty much dead even in a 1/4 mile

S/c will luanch harder and stay ahead until the back half. then the GXP will catch up right about the lights

both should run the 1/4 mile in about the 14.0 to 14.1

Now, without upscaling to the stage II SC what can be done to beat the stock GXP?

upscaling to stage II is going to be the most cost effective way to beat the GXP, but you could get lighter wheels/tires, custom high comp pistons with retune, ported head, custom cam regrind. This is all expensive stuff though...

And that will only work until the GXP gets its ECM flashed.

Like Randy says currently on my GXP I have upgraded exhaust, innercooler, CAI (but with no airbox) and retuned ECM. I also currently have in my possession Randy's stage 3 supercharger.

I have not had a chance to get it out and really play since I picked it up late Friday went straight home and yesterday only did some in town driving (with the top down). But after the first 5 miles my first thought was "this car is insane". Quite honestly at first I was scared to death with how much power was under my butt. There is so much power on the start I had to keep chanting to myself "don't stall it, don't stall it" because everytime I would give it the slightest bit of gas I would spin the back tires. So getting used to that took awhile but now that I've learned where the sweet spots are launching is ALOT of fun. It spools so fast that 2nd gear is pretty useless. Shift into 3rd look down and whoa you're at 70mph and don't even realize it.

I have to take I-20 to get to work so tomorrow will be fun I"m sure. I can probably even leave 15 minutes later then I normally would

Well on the 28th of February DDM will be installing MY BTF larger Wheel turbo, in Orlando. I already have an Exhaust system, so lets see what the DDM team can do with this setup. Specially since there might be some 3 bar sensors at the meet.

The stage II DDMWorks will stay with the tuned GXP's to 90-100 at least. If you get the power to the ground it is a bit quicker from the launch. the long 3rd gear in the 06 hurts it a bit, I'm still in 3rd at 99 at the end of a 1/4 mile (stage I), shifting to 4th slows the time down. Haven't been to the track with the stage II. DeepBlueGXP and I made it to the quarter finals at the Pontiac Outlaws (Cecil County) last year. He bracket out at 14.01 and I did the same at 14.10.

Keep in mind a base with a s/c has no warranty and the bottom end is not as stout as the GXP.

A GXP with an aftermerket tune has the same warranty as a S/C'd one. Besides if your worried about te warranty...don't mod the car.

and the only difference in the bottom end is the crank...which GM rates the 2.4 crank up to 500hp...well beyond the scope of this discussion
