I'm trying to decide on doing mods to my car....I don't have time/skill to do them myself, so I want to take it to a reputable shop. I've looked at Mallett, Hahn, a few others....I like the idea of having a "total package" where you do engine upgrades, suspension, brakes, etc all at one time. I also know my having musclecars over the years that these package mods like say a Yenko Camaro, Mr Norm's Dodges, or Shelby Mustangs hold their value much better than just a driveway mod set up.

Any thoughts on who has the best inclusive package to upgrade the car? I'm not opposed to doing an LS2 or just sticking w/ the 2.4 I'm running now and maybe going turbo or S/C...appreciate any insights.

Thanks

I know DDM works has done a few cars now with their setup. They have everything that'd you want.

Stage II Supercharger - Hellaciously fun
Full Exhaust - LT Header, Hiflow Cat, DDM Exhaust
Brake Kit - Calipers, Pads, Rotors, and lines
Probeam and Differential Bushing
Spec Clutches

And if there is anything else you'd like I know they can get it or they'll figure out how to. They're a great group of guys!!

Hey, sorry I missed your thread. As for transplants being worth something, I would just do it because you want to. I did my conversion because I liked the car and wanted more performance. I know I will not keep the car long enough for it to be worth anything, and If I do, it will need a restoration by then. Here is an Ebay auction that just happened for a Mallett and it didn't even reach reserve.

eBay Motors: Pontiac : Solstice (item 130221598161 end time May-22-08 17:00:00 PDT)

I went the Performance Autowerks route. I buoght all my stuff from them and had a local shop do the work for me. Doing it this way, I was able to get it exactly the way I wanted it, however, If I had it to do all over again, I would take the car to Dave and have him do all the work. Dave is a one stop shop, so he could complete the whole project, engine, suspension, trans brakes etc, as would Mallett. I guess I never really considered Mallett. Just looking at their price list, they were much more money than doing it the way I did. I planned this on a budget and could not have swung having Mallett doing it for me and getting the car like I wanted it. For the same price as Mallet charges for their 2.0 conversion $24K, I was able to do all that plus KW suspension, Tremec 6 speed transmission, and an STS V Quaiffe LSD rear diff. If you add these options with them, it makes the 2.0 another $14535. So, IMO, I got a hell of a deal.

In the end, I can say I am very happy with how the project turned out. Your probably right, If I keep my car for 40 years, it will not be worth as much as a Mallett, but I do not think I'll have it that long.

If you have any specific questions, PM me.
