Wade's Garage vs Mallett vs Autowerks

Can anyone advise me of the pros vs the cons for the conversion shops offering LS2 modification for a 2006 Solstice? Did I miss any? These were the only three facilities I could find. Wade's Garage vs Mallett vs Autowerks Thanks

I think you may want to add DDM to your list.

I have seen a Mallett up close at a local dealership... What a beauty and you can tell Mallett knows what they are doing. The other two may be just as good. However, I have never seen either one.

LatinVenom is right... DDM has to be on your list too. They ae first class all the way!!!

I have looked at the DDMWorks web site. The Super Charger looks appetizing. However, I did not see any information for LS conversions.

Rumor has it that DDM is in the middle of doing a LS conversion right now. If you read this forum and a couple of others you will know whose car is being converted. But it's not my secret to reveal, so I'll be quiet for the time being.

My Mallett in a '06 runs and looks great. They have nice attachments too.

I hadnt heard of Wades when I was looking to have my conversion done so I only compared Mallet and Werks. I went with Werks as I believe I got more for the money spent.

Dave is a pleasure to deal with and I couldnt be happier with the job he did on my car. With any job this complicated there are always a few bugs to iron out and the support Werks has offered after the conversion has been top notch.

Im sure all three shops can do a first rate conversion. Compare prices and consider the distance you have to travel. What warranty do they offer and how is the support after the install. And are they going to be around in 6mo or 2 years when you want to add some more HP

oK, yes. The Punisher is in SC. It is I believe the second LSx conversion. randy's was the proof of concept and Punisher is production number 1.

I talked quite a bit with Wade and was very impressed with his professionalism and quality. I was ready to ship the car to W. Va when I had a conversation with Dave. I chose to go with DDM because I know them and have nothing but positive things so say about them.

I was looking at Malett until they had their doors shut and, well I did not keep them on my short list.

Thanks for posting that, Rob the Elder. I had personally talked to 2 - 3 people who had seen the Punisher at DDM.

Ever since Mallett was shuttered last year, I wouldn't even think of having them work on a car.

Wade does a very clean install from what I've seen.

I have had great experiences dealing with both Werks and DDM. Both have excellent customer service and do great work. I have seen one of Werks conversions and that car was awesome.

I'm sure you're going to have a awesome Punisher down the road.

I saw a Mallett up close too, and I was not thrilled that they notched the frame (on the passenger side, i think) to clear the flange on the exhaust manifold. For the price of the Mallet I would have much rather seen a set of custom headers.

I haven't seen any of the other conversions in person.

I've seen Wade's Solbra and it was very nice! The rumble of that car behind us was incredible!

I've seen one of Werks early conversions on a 1st 1000 Solstice. And it was very nice also! The V8 fit into the engine compartment like a glove! Dave does nice work!

And Randy and Dave at DDM do a stellar job at anything they take on! I'm always impressed with how hard they work and how they always try to go the extra mile! Their conversion will be nice. Gauranteed!

The only one I haven't personally seen, cause Tad's been keeping it close to home, has been a Mallet.

I'd say you'll be happy no matter who you choose. Good luck!

A custom header can make it impossible to get the car smogged in states that do emissions inspections.

Punisher is scheduled to return home in January. I am bringing it to the Nationals in June where people can see it up close. When I get pictures I will post them.

My build is the LS3 - 376/480 which is rated at 480 HP out of the crate. Dave says that over 500 is "easy" when he tunes it.

The build includes new radiator, the motor, new 6 speed transmission and all the odd bits and pieces to make them play. The exhaust is to be custom made for the car and will be 2 into 4 in the center.

He has "other" things planned that he will not tell me about . .. its going to be a surprise.

What are the base prices for all of the conversions from each place?
