Lake Geneva and the First Bugs of 2008

Beth and I decided to test her back today with a little run to see if she could tolerate the twisties. We ran down to Lake Geneva and did last falls run with a few loops added to look at a couple of new roads. We almost snuck out onto the former AMC proving grounds, as there was a police department practicing pursuit tactics and they had left the gate open when they entered, but we decided to behave and stay out. The southeast section of the run looks like it has been under water this past week, and the water was still over the road in one section, so Fred went swimming as it wasn't more than about 6 inches deep.

We had a wonderful time. The only bummer was having to clean the front fascia and windshield of the first bugs of 2008. It was mid-60s and top down the whole day!

I think she's well on the road to recovery. Yesterday was the first full day in 3 weeks without any meds and she did well, despite me doing my best to throw her. Several turns we hit at a pretty good clip and I had to change my line through the corner due to dirt/gravel still all over the turns. But we did have a great day, and it sure beat all heck out of yard work, but the yard is still too wet and still has a foot of snow where the sun never shines.

I'll let her know you were asking!
