WISols - 3rd Annual New Years Day

Cabin Fever is starting to set in - During the last 10 days we've had 4 major snow storms in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and there's a lot of snow on the ground - see pics 1-3.

1/1/2006 - WISols is born when SolWhat? and Aspenrose meet to install a KappaShield on Aspenrose's Solstice, Kenny and Fred then take a short top-down run to a nearby restaurant/bar for drinks & lunch. (Mel, please insert a pic of the boys in the parking lot - I can't find it on the web site)

1/1/2007 - Kinda solitary - Mel is in Indy? - weather is beautiful - it's above freezing and no snow on the ground. Fred goes top-down to the lakeshore to view the Polar Bear's annual dip in the lake. Pic 4

1/1/2008 - Is anyone willing to get together for a pot luck lunch/short cruise/or whatever? Beth has offered to host it at the house if it's not too big, what's everyone think?

That's 2!

Thanks for adding the pic - it's hard to believe the boys were so clean cut back then . . . the only mods were the KappaShields. Wow!

How far do you all figure I am from you? I have no New Year's plans as of right now. So if I don't do anything stupid for New Years, I might be inclined to come up if you don't mind an Illinois party crasher!!

I know, seems like a lifetime ago!!!!

And ihawk, you're probably 3-4 hours south? I can get to northwest burbs of Chicago in 3 hours from me, and SW? is about 90 min, Route from your house to north of Milwaukee.

We're about 90 minutes from O'Hare, given that traffic is moving . . . Since I've never been to your place I can't tell you.

You are correct. I'm an hour 45 minutes southwest of Schaumburg. Well if it's just north of Milwaukee that's not bad. If it's around 3 hours and nothing comes together here, I might pop up for that!

Call me tentative based on the weather.

Speaking of snow driving...I took a work "snow day" yesterday. As I am cleaing off the deck in back, I see Christine (Christique on the forum) driving down Hwy B in the blizzard in her Sol.

It was cool to see at first...but then I thought, with a car that low and the drifts we have in our neck of the state getting several feet high (plus the rear wheel drive), I was almost ready to get in my Subaru and follow her home to make sure she was safe!!

Same here, doesn't look like I'll have anything going for New Year's Eve. So I should be able to wake up at a reasonable time.

Well, I'm iffy depending on weather and what comes up here. I'm hearing rumors of another lime tequila & poker night so depends on when we decide to do that crap again!!

But if the weather is good and I'm not doing anything New Year's eve, I can head up.

This should have been posted two weeks ago and then all would be good. Michele has made plans for some friends from Mexico City to be over to our house. I will have to make sure they are comming....if not count us in.
