Uh, don't know...

We haven't been using roads in that area for a while. I know that the detour signs are still up regarding Hwy 78 in Prairie du Sac, but that's about all I can tell ya. Won't be able to do much in the way of exploring over the next few days and busy with the FD this weekend.

RR...if you're going to be in the Elroy area Saturday, I'll forward a list of goodies you can pick up for me at the Train Shop. Patti would be sooooooo pleased...

Well, I know we're doing a first shot at a new route this Sunday, will be departing the Lake Delton area about 9:30-10 am, or whenever we get there from NE WI.

For those of us that have not attended this event, but would like to attend, can you please post more information. Things like address and phone number to hotel, any group rates? What is the schedule of events for these three days? Is there a group dinner or events we need to sign up for? Any other information we may need?

Resort we stay at is Baker's Sunset Bay Resort, 1-800-435-6515, ask for the Wisconsin Solstice group, we do get a discounted rate, their website is Sunset Bay Resort Welcome to Sunset Bay Resort, overlooking Lake Delton, in Wisconsin Dells!

The usual plan is some arrive on Thursday, most on Friday, we did a run late afternoon last year down to a local winery, Roadie Rob led that one.

Saturday is run day, we'll have 1-3 run groups, Rob will lead a group, I'll be leading a group, and depending on attendance, there may be a 3rd group.

Saturday night we have dinner catered in, and the group hangs out at the firepit. We've had early arrivals do the Ducks on Friday, or head to HoChunk (casino), and we may have a scavenger hunt for folks who want to do that also on Friday.

The only event fee is for the Sat nite dinner, once our SE WI Director of Eats, Drinks and Sleeps (aka mrs Jerry Valley) gets the info on dinner, we'll have a registration/waiver form for folks to print and mail to her with a check.

Damn, it's official.

ICG!

What is wrong with people, especially family? How can they schedule things like weddings without checking the forum for conflicting events first?

We are gonna miss everyone this year, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Just a heads up for anyone interested, the Jaccuzi suite at Sunset Bay is now up for grabs. I just cancelled the reservation today.

OH NO ... what are those people going to do without the "Lemon Drop Lady"?

Seriously, sorry you and Deb won't be able to make it - I haven't seen either one of you for 3 weeks short of a year.

Well if you ever travel back to PA, you can always do the stop over at Devoland.

I would certainly love to run down to the winery / Devil's Lake / ferry, Cty PF...etc...on Friday once again.

As for my route...I did a little surveying on the bike out by Kendall, WI two weekends ago. I have a map drawn up and now need to whittle down the roads and miles into a reasonable Saturday cruise (and avoid potential gravel / construction with the new roads added).

Right now, it is 195 miles and resembles a saw blade. Total elevation climbing is just over 7,350 feet with a few sections at 4-6% (up and down), one short section that hits between 8-9% uphill, and a downhill just over 10% avg for a few hundred meters. I even have a 400 foot drop in 4.5 miles!

(bring gum...you'll need it for the landing)

Thanks lil brother! Unfortunately, most of my travel to PA will be done in something much faster than my Sol.

We'll have to compare routes once we get both refined-we were out in the same zone this past Sunday, route as it stands now is 178 miles, and does 20,265 feet of elevation changes, with a pit stop in Elroy, possible lunch stop south of Wildcat, last pit stop in Elroy, before winding back to Bakers.
