We are gonna miss everyone this year, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Just a heads up for anyone interested, the Jaccuzi suite at Sunset Bay is now up for grabs. I just cancelled the reservation today.
Geez--What are we going to do without you and the Lemon Lady--say it just can't be so!!! The fire pit will not be the same !

Just made reservations for Friday and Saturday nites at the Sunset Bay. Have not been to the Dells area since we were teenagers. Should be fun! Is Lake Delton "back"? Didn't it loose its water last year?

You don't forget another solstice driver! A mini-caravan is a Great Idea. Let's coordinate after I return from my mid-September. Anyone else interested?

Hitting the Dells again tomorrow to check out the modified new route...and test my tire plug I put in today, and see if I can get most of the break in done for the new differential!

The usual plan is some arrive on Thursday, most on Friday, we did a run late afternoon last year down to a local winery, Roadie Rob led that one.

Saturday is run day, we'll have 1-3 run groups, Rob will lead a group, I'll be leading a group, and depending on attendance, there may be a 3rd group.

Saturday night we have dinner catered in, and the group hangs out at the firepit. We've had early arrivals do the Ducks on Friday, or head to HoChunk (casino), and we may have a scavenger hunt for folks who want to do that also on Friday.

The only event fee is for the Sat nite dinner, once our SE WI Director of Eats, Drinks and Sleeps (aka mrs Jerry Valley) gets the info on dinner, we'll have a registration/waiver form for folks to print and mail to her with a check.
Well hello there everyone! anybody miss me????? this has been an extremely hectic summer here at the Valley house. I have not even had time to think about the Dells---much less plan for anything. I know Jerry is planning on being there from Thursday night on BUT I have a wedding that Saturday and it is the biggest of the season. So worse case scenario would be me showing up around dinner time on Saturday. Best case is getting there late Friday night if my partner finds someone to help out on Saturday. For those that have been there the past two years, did you like the food the first year or last year? It was catered both times and was ribs and chicken both times. As far as the "white elephant" this year, I think we had decided each car (not person) would bring a nice "grab bag" item---value no more than $25. that way the registration cost would be strickly the dinner cost and not a combination of door prize/dinner as in years past. how about some input??????

Yes, we miss you!! Glad to hear it's just hectic, and not a sold Sol or something

My vote is either, both were great food, so I'd say whichever you can get, is fine by me!

Lessee, everyone brings an exchange gift, and it's The Better's birthday boy this year

UPDATE and FRIDAY ACTIVITIES

#1 - RR and Jill ooofficially booked our room today (Thurs-Sun)! The gal at the desk had 22 rooms booked, or around that number.

#2 - As I am trying desperately to be more "active" this year, Jill and I may not lead a Friday "wine-drive" but we would love to lead a Friday HIKE if folks are interested. We are thinking possibly about Devil's Lake, Mirror Lake, or maybe even a longer cruise out to Wildcat Mt. for their amazing views (very nice trails at that park!). I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts or if others care to join us. 4-5 miles tops...so nothing too exerting.

#3 - I am looking to scope out my route either Sept 11-12 or maybe 18-19 (weather pending). Anyone interested in a pre-run on those days, please PM me and we'll set up a meeting place, time, etc...

BTW...Happy 2nd Birthday Richard and inugural pre-Happy Birthday for "Better" (Terry / Betsy)

The other attraction for the weekend, The SCCA National Championship Runoffs, are being held at Road America, Plymouth, Wisconsin the same weekend as the Dells.

The T2 race, where the Solstice GXPs race, is scheduled for 10:30AM on Friday, 9/25.

The SSB race, (Solstice NA), is 8:30AM on Saturday, 9/26.

Road America is a bit over 100 miles from the Sunset Bay Resort, pretty much all state highway. My GPS tells me about 2.5 hours.

If anyone wants the route, PM me.
