First come first serve on the lakefront room----$68/night. Suites are $95. People can call direct at 1-800-435-6515 and tell them they are with the Solstice group. We will have the hospitality room again and anything else we need!

Hey...anyone know if Bakers is having phone trouble? I've been trying since 11:40 am and the 800 number rings busy.
Is there an alternative number? Didn't see one on the website. Thanks!
I just tried it and it's busy. There are some flooding problems at Lake Delton today, so it may be that the resort phones are out. I'll try their regular phone number. Nope, It's busy too.
Keep trying, and if you get through, find out how bad the flooding is, please.

Needless to say, Lake Delton, Wisconsin has seen better days than today. I'm sure we'll find out in the coming days how bad it is. The damage described in Momssols message is at the far end of the lake to the right side of Bakers, which is about mid-length of the lake.
We'll see.

County A has a section closed (didn't we drive on these roads??)
Quote:
Jelinek warned nearby residents to "stay away from rushing waters" near the lake and to avoid County A, which is closed between U.S. 12 and County T.

Well, as long as Baker's remains open, we will be there-we don't need a lake. But until they can secure/close off the channel the flood water created, the lake will stay dry. Sad sad for the home owners who lost property, and the businesses that may not be able to recover from this.

Lake Delton's Police Chief tells Newsradio 620 that several homes have been swallowed by a new river that has formed in between Lake Delton and the Wisconsin River.

Click Here to listen to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jon Byman talk to Lake Delton Police Chief Tom Dorner.
Chief Tom Dorner says, "our original focus and worry was that the Lake Delton Dam, which creates the artificial Lake Delton was going to be breached. That actually held well." The Chief says, "what happened was the water kept rising and we were able to stop it at the dam but it overtook another berm on another part of the lake."
Dorner says a 300 foot wide path of water has formed and is now draining Lake Delton into the Wisconsin River. Chief Dorner says what is a river now was dry land.
The new river also washed out part of a county highway that was in between the lake and the Wisconsin River.
According to JSOnline, the new river has drained the lake, which was artificially formed.

Yep, odds are there's a combination of factors-the immediate areas on Lake Delton were evacuated earlier today or yesterday-but with it ringing busy, like Dave said, the phone system either may be out, or overloaded with what's happened today there.

Our Safety Pup just showed me the video. Didn't realize it was the same lake. No wonder I can't get through and the line is busy.
Dang...hope everything is OK at the resort. I too feel terrible. The guy in my office was just there last weekend and he said the locals were saying the river (? is there a river right there) was low! How quickly things change.
I'll try again tomorrow. If I do get through...I'll let you guys know what they say!
Don't let me forget though!!!
