Yorktown Victory Center
We have decided to organize a cruise celebrating
America's 400th Anniversary
...The Journey That Changed The World
We will try to take our Solstices and Skys back in time and learn some of the history of these amazing cities.
Plans: We will use the Yorktown Victory Center parking lot (Rt. 1020 & Colonial Pwy) as a marshaling area with a tour – about twenty miles to Williamsburg with at least one pull off large enough for 20-30 cars overlooking the USN terminal on the York. Lunch in Williamsburg. Take 199 to Jamestown – at least one location to pull off and view the James River – including a small sandy beach. We will tour Jamestown Settlement and Historic Jamestown. Then do the Island Drive and head back to Williamsburg to check-in and have dinner.

Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown form “Virginia’s Historic Triangle,” all linked by the scenic Colonial Parkway and are easily reached via interstates 95 and 64 and U.S. Route 17. The Colonial Parkway, a 23-mile scenic three-lane highway, connects Yorktown Battlefield, Colonial Williamsburg and Historic Jamestowne. The Parkway starts at the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center parking, heads west following the York River to Williamsburg, turns south to follow the James River, and ends up in the Historic Jamestowne Visitor Center parking lot.
