where abouts in the 'peake? I am usually over there visiting the parents and have seen a green one on cedar. Was gonna chase them down and let them know about the forum but the girlfriend wouldn't stop complaining about my obsession.

She's so weird.

I plan on staying out on Portsmouth Bvd next trip. There is a Red Robin that might be a good place to meet up once we have more daylight duriing the work week.
I want to hear exhaust mods soon.

Pop's Drive in

There is a place down the street from me on US rt-17 called Pop's Drive In. Its a little burger and dog joint that has been around forever. They used to have an informal classic car night where people would meet. Might be a good spot when it warms up. There is also a great place in Yorktown on the beach called "The Yorktown Pub" All sorts of places to cruise around.

WELCOME! I'm over in Smithfield, but belong to a railroad club who rents a building near Pop's Drive In. Will send you a PM when I get back in town -- currently in FLA on family business.

Here's one of my favorites taken at Smithfield Station. I know that you've seen it, but it just begs to be thrown into any conversation about Smithfield.

Google Maps

The wooden dock dead-center of the screen is where this image was made.

I used to live in VA Beach and work in Suffolk. What a drive every day! Is the peanut factory still there?

Wow, big response from you Tidewater folks. Wish we had that here in the IBX area of ENC.

I wonder how many Rail Fans and modelers are on the forum. My thought was top down in the Solstice for a camera platform would be the way to go but NOT on the MOW of the Yadkin Valley RR. Not a friendly line.

I am an alumni of William & Mary and led a group (along with Cheers) to Jamestown-Yorktown-Williamsburg on an historic cruise in November 2007. You can see the pictures here if you go to the last pages.

Jamestown/Yorktown/Williamsburg Historic Cruise

I currently live in the Metropolitan DC area. So, hope to see you at some of our events.

Boy, that is a drive! My daughter used to make the trip the other way. Worked in VB and lived in Suffolk. She gave up the job

Yep, still lots of peanut factories here

Are youi guys going to repeat this cruise? I wish you would since we had to miss it due to a death in the family.

If there is enough of a consensus, we could do it again!
