Car lovers show off classic rides

GEAR HEADS REJOICE! A gaggle of classic car-related events takes place each month. Get the proverbial motor running and make plans to covet a collection of cars you've been dreaming about.
Cars and Coffee
On the third Saturday of each month through December, the Forsyth Campus of Lanier Technical College turns into an early morning appreciation of old-school and new-school cars. Expect muscle cars, hot rods, antique cars, Italian sports cars, trucks and more. Guests arrive as early as 7 a.m. to sip java and peruse the autos on view. Local car clubs the Peach State Kappa Club and the Georgia Pontiac Fiero Club host the August gathering, which benefits the Acoustic Neuroma Association Brain Tumor Foundation.
• THE 411: Free. $5 parking. $20 car show contestant entry. 7 a.m. Aug. 16. Lanier Technical College, 7745 Majors Road, Cumming.

We had a very good turnout this month 30 registered cars. We collected almost $800 for the ANF.
