Location: Long Island, NY... a sister island to the Hawaiian chain. ;-)
Is there someplace to get a bagel and coffee before the run?
If not, I could bring a couple of boxes of Joe and assorted bagels from a Dunkin' Donuts.
It would be my pleasure.

My idea on this is, at the start, get your odometer to where it just turned a whole mile (I'm presuming you have no tenths) and write that number on the top of the instructions page, then don't worry about it again. You will always be able to add the instruction mileage to the start number. The result will be the mileage on your odo at the point you need to execute the instruction. You'll be winging it on tenths, but fear not.
Since this is a giant game of "Follow the Leader", you will not be likely to be so out of touch with the cars in front that you get lost. If somehow, you do get separated, the instructions are clear, the streets are named, and the last car (Sweep Car), which will be equipped with a trip odo, On*Star phone and or Cell phone as well as a radio, will be able to alert the lead car to hold up while you catch up. I forsee no problems with this.
BTW, if anyone would like to be the Sweeper, you'll always be the last car, no matter what, the Kappa Shepherd. Volunteers?

PeteG, a new member who is having some difficulty posting, phoned me. He will be joining us for the first section of the run only. He has a car show following on that day.
He lives in Bayville and tells me that Marty's C-Side Deli is a good spot for refilling coffee cups. I called them and they will be open. This will occur only 35 minutes into the run. 25 minutes after that is our first pit stop.

A stop 35 minutes into the run?? I thought this was an express train, not the local
Reed... I do have one of my own radios that I hope you can tune for me. I tried to use it w/Gino on the plant tour trip and he couldn't hear me. Think you can help me?
Since I never get up for anything else, it'll be good to see youse guyze again.

Reed, I have two radios from the last run and am charging them as we speak. One of the radios does not have the ear/microphone piece. I forgot who gave it to me. Did you come up with an extra ear/microphone piece or anyone reading this? Let me know.

On Saturday afternoon, I will be doing a last minute check run to make certain that all the roads are still open, no construction crews have moved in and my newly printed 25 page instruction booklets have no glaring errors. Also, I will stop at the restaurant to remind them about the parking deal.
Anybody who'd like to tag along for part or all of the final pre-run is welcome to join me. We may make a couple of stops and drink our way East, always remaining unimpaired, of course!
I expect to go around 1 or 2 PM, starting at Eisenhower #5, of course. You have the car number, so hook up.
If you pre-run, you must run the next day, or . . . else . . .I'll do something . . . rash. So, no excuses!
Let's Motor!

Very Nice....a NYC member. You should come up to the Hudson Valley Event. Only a 1 hour drive for you into beautiful Westchester County. We can talk about it Sunday!

Now that's an offer I'd love to take you up on. Unfortunately, I'm working today
Good Luck (110 and Jericho were really ripped up, but I'm sure we won't be near that section) AND (Mill Dam Bridge is out in Centerport)
