The 1st ferry out of New London to Orient Point on the 10th is 7:00 AM and gets to Orient Point about 8:00 AM the ride from there is about an hour+ from where we are meeting up. - in other words you won't make it to Starbuck's on time. http://www.longislandferry.com/
The Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry is closer to the starting location (Medford) however it leaves Bridgeport at 7:30 AM and gets into Port Jeff about 8:45 AM - same problem doesn't get there in time. Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company
Now I remember why I left at 4:30-5:00 AM and drove all the way around last year.
Anyway here's another choice I'm thinking about:
Go over to LI on Saturday mid-morning using New London ferry and staying here as I have enough points saved up.
- Mrs Skyman-CT may actually join me if I do this, as I promised to take her to a couple wineries on Saturday in which case the New London - Orient Point ferry is actually closer to winieres.
Dan,
I'm trying to remember from last year's run?
Will we end up closer to the Orient Point or Port Jefferson Ferry at the end of run on (8/10) - Sunday? - also if you could estimate a time - as I remember it was around 4:30 - 5:00 PM?
P.S.
I'm pretty sure "T" (Sky07) will be joining us.
there's also a slight possibility Ronzer and "D" too.

Hampton's Run - Sunday, August 10th
Depart from Starbuck's parking lot at 8:30AM
(Just South of the LIE off Exit 64 - Route 112. It's on the Northbound side of 112.)
The rain date will be the following Sunday, August 17
I'm planning an August 10th run in the Hamptons. I hope y'all can make it. Sarge says there has been very little feedback with regards to runs, so it's been tough scheduling them. Well, this time we're just gonna put a stake in the ground and do the run no matter what. Heck, if it's just me out there, so be it! In that case, I'll call it "The run of one" and I'll post pictures as if it were a full club event... me stopping for a bathroom break... me looking at the Montauk Lighthouse... me eating... etc...
The route will be pretty close to the same one we did last year. We'll depart at 8:30AM from the Starbuck's parking lot (just South of the LIE on Route 112 - Exit 64). Please arrive in time. We'll take Exit 70 to Sunrise Hwy. When Sunrise Hwy ends in South Hampton, we'll go off into the twisties and stay that way most of the way to Montauk Point.
Last time, none of us actually wanted to see the Lighthouse. We all spent the money to park, but it was a big waste. Unless told otherwise, this time we'll just drive the Lighthouse loop slowly and go straight to Gosman's.
Lunch will be at Gosman's dock (outside patio area). We'll take a mostly different twisty route out of the Hamptons.
I'll get the outbound and return routes spiral bound from Kinko's, like last year. Please let me know you're coming so I have an idea of how many to get made. I won't have them made until August 8th, so any time between now and then is good.
The route is done in PowerPoint, so if you want an electronic copy of it, just PM me with your e-mail address and I'll get it out to you. That will also be around August 8th, because I want to run it alone just before we go. You never know where or when construction or something nasty could pop up.

Mark, thank goodness you speak "T"! We have enough trouble trying to figure out "Sarge"! Can't wait to see you guys again. Tell T not to worry, I'll have her DD coffee!
ClassCat, sorry you won't be making the run, we will miss you.
If anyone is interested I just discussed it with Mark and we are meeting up for dinner at Hooters on Aug. 9. Exit 59/60 on the LIE. If anyone is interested in joining us (SkyhighNY, Skyman CT, Sky 07 & Ronzer) let me know!

Sorry for the delay! I was on vacation and just got back today.
We'll end up at the very end of Sunrise Highway. It depends on which way you're going. If you're heading West, it's Port Jeff. If North or Northeast, I'd say Orient.

I'm so glad you're coming!

Too bad. You will be missed.
I have the whole run in a series of maps and directions on PowerPoint. I'll be updating it later this week to make sure there is nothing new along the route that would hinder us.
If you'd like, I can e-mail it to you so you can take the run at some other time. Just send me a PM with your e-mail address if you want it.

Dan,
Thanks - we (T, Ronzer and Skyman-CT) decided we'll take the New London - Orient Point Ferry over on Saturday, hit a few wineries along the way and then booked a night at the Courtyard Marriott off LIE exit 60. We're also booked for the 7PM Orient Point - New London Ferry back on Sunday night.
Saturday night we're hooking up with Skyhighny at the Islandia Hooter's for dinner.
If anyone else wants to join us, we'll try to firm up a time?
