Looks like I will be solo for the run on Sunday. The wife has to accompany my son to Six Flags as she does not want him driving with his friend. He made this commitment a while ago. Either way I'm still looking forward to it.

YouTube doesn't seem to like the video I took in the twisties for some reason, so after trying twice, I uploaded it to Photobucket. Once I did that, I found a cool new toy to play with. Remember that it's my first time playing with that tool- it'll be obvious when you're watching the video! You'll have to click to watch it, and let it play all the way through, or the music seems to get thrown off. Enjoy!
This is the video I shot in East Hampton on the way home. At this point, we were actually moving along at a much better pace than the previous 20 minutes. This is what we bypassed this morning thanks to Maika'i GXP's superb planning! Nice work, Dan!
If you don't feel like watching that video (there's really nothing to see), just check out this pic- notice the lack of numbers on the speeding sign!

I'm so very sorry we left you behind. I never realized you weren't with us until I stopped at the end of the run so the radios could be returned! By that time there was no recovery.

Not to rub salt into the wound, but we didn't experience any of that on the back roads. You should have followed my "escape" map. It would have been clear sailing.

Hi Everyone:
I guess I'm just about the newest member of these forums. I bought the car last Friday and drove it 700 miles home on the first day! (I've been reading your posts and I don't think I have the lowest mileage, even compared to some of the first 1K owners!) On the way back to NY from Ohio I wanted to quit for the night but there were no hotel rooms to be had. Pennsylvania was booked, so I slept in the car in a Holiday Inn parking lot. I don't recommend it. I missed my van that night.
My wife has wanted this car for more than a year but our local dealers are nuts. They never call back, they tack 2 to 3 grand on to the sticker and they offer 1 year and over wait times. We were looking for a Mean or Aggressive GXP online last week and saw an Ohio dealer with the Brazen Orange for sale on e-Bay. A couple of phone calls and a flight to Columbus later and I was driving home with my wife's 25th. Wedding Anniversary present.
We look forward to other events. Wish we could have been there to show off Lil'Oggi. (We have a cat named Lil'Oggi. He was the lovable runt of the litter and the only orange kitten of six. Denise kept calling him the Little Orange Guy. . . Little O.G. . . . Lil'Oggi. The Solstice is the smallest and most orangey car in our litter, so if NYSDMV has it available, LIL OGGI will be the license plate.)
We're looking forward to club style events . . . runs, picnics, parking lot cruise-ins, rallyes. To borrow from our Mini friends - Let's Motor!

It really wasn't a big deal- I expected half the group to be gone when I got back from my water run. There were just a few extra people missing!
Benton & Lil'Oggi,
Welcome and congratulations! I look forward to meeting you both in the near future.
