It was a beautiful night at Tanner Park--nice to see Rich, Ivan and Miriam. Had dinner and drinks at Beach Hut, listened to some good music, took the beach walk.... not a huge showing of cars, but it was a fun place to hang out. Hopefully, Tuesday at Tanner will become a popular car night.

...My plan for the Gold Coast Run is to re-visit some of the same places and add some new places using different roads. Last time we ran on September 30th. That would translate to the 28th. this year, though I'm liking the 21st. (the week before) if for no other reason than it is the Fall Equinox. Solstices at the Equinox. Has a nice ring, doesn't it? 1sgt, we really were looking forward to that run you cancelled. You never shared with us the reason so everyone was a little PO'd that you took such a unilateral action without asking us. If I had known why, I know I would have felt compassion and been more understanding. There is a lack of clear communication here. This club is a group effort.
I put the GCR together on my own last time. I didn't mind, but, that's not a group thing, is it? Karen, you have lot's of energy. I'm counting on you. I had not even been on a run when I did GCR. You can do it. There are other people on this forum who can put in some time, even if it's just to print out maps or collate run books or go to Staples for folders, or record a music disc to go with the run. There are a thousand details to handle. Last year I was unemployed. This year I'm crazy busy. I'll need help with GCR2, but we shouldn't wait until then to sponsor a run. Sarge, why don't you get someone to lend a hand planning your run, and post it all here on the forums. It's not a secret, is it? The once a month breakfast meetings are nice, but we meet every day, right here. It's a 21st. Century meeting. It never ends.
Hey Chris, right now the 28th isn't a problem. If college hunting takes place that day, I'll have to bail, but for now it's a go.
AND, did I read that Sollie may visit the Island for this??? Any other out-of-staters? Or up-staters even? This is the best run for anyone traveling since it isn't out east.

URGENT: One of our fellow LI Solstice owners got into an accident on Roslyn Road. I was told by a friend of miner who passed by...I was told that the driver was female and was not injured...thank goodness. The color of the Solstice was red. It was supposedly hit by an SUV and damaged badly. Anyone have any idea who it is???
