Pep just asked me about my car so I thought I would update you all.

The words we will be learning todays boys and girls are: Oil pump and Cam Shaft. That's right, as in replacing them both!

I'm not sure if I posted this link originally, but if you'd like to read the continuing saga of the life of my car please refer to the following link:

Eng. Power Reduced ??? - Saturn Sky Forums: Saturn Sky Forum

If anyone needs me to take their cars out for a little exercise, feel free to invite me over, I'd be more than happy to car sit.

That's true Sarge you have, but Pep asked me again today so I thought I'd do the update. Especially because of all the bizarre answers I'm getting!

Thanks, I hope she's home soon too.

Karen, see if you can get it towed to a dealer on the island if possible, and tell them at union that you dont feel they are qualified to repair your car. See what they say it might cost you in towing fees but it might be worth it. And Karen if you want to use my solstice you are more than welcome it 's sitting in the garage anyway it needs a good drive, I'm serious.

I tried that already. You have to leave it with the dealership that started the work or they can charge you for the work they have already done. I wanted to take it out of there after it was diagnosed, bring it home, and have it wait here for the parts. Can't do that.

As far as the Solstice, I just might take you up on that offer. I'm dying to see what all the tune talk is about!

Sarge, you don't have to ask everyday. I feel like a broken record and that I'm whining so I try and keep my posts to the original thread or to my facebook account or I whine to Reed. He must be so sick of hearing about my car troubles already.

Originally I thought it would be something simple or common like the fuel rail / fuel pump issue. It just happens that it's turning into something much more.

I'll have more answers tomorrow and I promise to update you guys regularly.

I would like to ask you guys one question though. Is this going to look really crappy on my carfax report if I ever planned on selling it?

I think they only report major problems like new engines or tranny i dont think it will effect it to much especially if it can be repaired and it's not like your car was at the dealer every other day with a problem. But I'm not sure.

I doubt it, but I really wouldn't know. While it's certainly traumatic, I don't know that this warranty claim would be major enough. I think the oil changes from independent service providers will hurt your CarFax score more. They don't get logged in Saturn's computers so there's no official record of them. I had a couple done at a place by my office for convenience and the CarFax on my old Sky showed missed maintenance despite my taking it in religiously. I didn't see any hits for the replaced roof, catalytic converter, or fender panels.
