Yeah, please do.
Try investing the money for awhile. Don't let it burn a hole in your pocket. Have fun frying the little engine you have, then move on.

hahahaha i meant the say the auditory pleasure of a finely tuned large displacement mechanical component responsible for putting on grin on your face when at full throttle.
this is also referred to as "American Muscle".
then there is Ivan's Muscles, defined as:
a grouping of actin and myosin manipulated through the use of high intensity training, causing hypertrophy to aforementioned musclular components, leading the host (aka ivan), to have the urge to put on a pink/purple speedo and hop on stage.
although both American Muscle and Ivan's Muscles are indeed different in structure and function, they both achieve a reaction of when properly displayed, particularly to the opposite sex.

hahaha i have plenty of other funds for investing, so i figure this is either my engine or a rainy day fund, but come to think of it is a rainy day fund THAT important

Do you currently have a GXP? If so, I might be interested in the engine when you do the swap. I'd send it to a shop and see how much of a monster we could make, while still being street worthy on a regular basis.
I think an LS-whatever will give higher horsepower while still maintaining driveability and a conservative/respectable sound. The little 2.0T will probably become unwieldy, shrill, and not be much use on the street in short order.
But that's an opinion pulled straight from my butt. I'd like to talk to a shop about it.

Nah.... you're reading it wrong. Gosman's said to call between 10AM and 10:30AM for lunch reservations. We should be arriving at Montauk Point about 10:30AM. We should have ample time to enjoy the Lighthouse and surrounding park before we blast off to Gosman's.
I'm thinking we plan to leave the Point at noon? That would give us about an hour and a half at the Point.

yes i do have a gxp, and i think it would be wild to try and get one of these 2.0s up there in power, but as you put it, the sound would be quite unpleasant to the ears. my friend has a 4 cylinder engine he beefed up to around 500hp and it sounds like a weed wacker on steroids

Yeah, that's exactly what I was afraid of.
OK, so I'll have fun frying my little engine that could, then drop in an LS7.

I took the liberty of reading some posts and trying to compile an attendance list for next Sunday. I posted it here in the thread Dan started for the run/ It'll be easier for him to plan if he can get an accurate headcount, so please pop over and add or remove youself in that thread. It'll be a lot easier that way since no one will have to wade through all the club posts to see who's coming. Thanks!
