I feel your pain. We're supposed to have snow north of us tomorrow right in the area where I have a job under construction. I'm getting my "fun" tires taken off tomorrow and my all-season tires put back on so I can drive in the snow for my job meeting on Thursday IS THERE NO JUSTICE??????

it was 90 degrees at my house today. Kids here will be celebrating Halloween in their swim suits.

hopefully that means the mountains get some snow this year!

Our local hill never opened more than 50% all of last season too bad we're really spending most of our snowboard money on the CO trip. This might actually be a decent local year.

Well, driving home was way better than when I had been out on the roads at lunchtime yesterday. By evening they had rousted the snow plows out of their storage sheds and had a lot of the main roads clear. There was still a lot of congestion and many roads closed due to downed trees, branches and power lines, but I was fortunate that I was able to avoid the main roads and the back roads I took were clear and open.

60,000 people in New Jersey lost power yesterday, of which I was one. JCP&L is now reporting that 34,000 people are still without power, so I guess I'm lucky that mine came back on at 1:00am last night.

I had a chilly home for the evening, but I was lucky that one of my friends in the area had power in his apartment, so I went over there for a while to have dinner and watch a DVD. Returned home at about 10:00pm to go to bed - bundled up in warm PJs, wool socks, extra blankets on the bed and two cats snuggled close. Woke in the middle of the night with the heat back on, sweating and trapped in too many blankets, pinned down by cats.

Hopefully the snow will melt and we'll be back to regular fall weather for the trick-or-treaters on Friday.

Oh, and yeah, it was probably about 6 inches, but not the kind of 6 inches that I enjoy!

Those are the days I don't miss since moving out of NJ; starting up the generator, cursing at the snow blower from breaking down due to the weight of the snow. Do the spring storms still knock out the power as well?

I do feel for all of you up that way.
