Lets talk about how we may go to Nationals, the Dragon, and return home.
My current plan is to make a vacation out of this event by adding days either before the event, or after it. I have spent some time looking at my atlas and my first impressions are that the best scenic driving is to be had from Nashville to the Dragon and from there on the way home. From Houston to Nashville doesn't seem to offer very much in the way of "points of interest".
So, lets hear some ideas from anyone interested in caravaning from Houston or Dallas/Ft Worth area.

We're planning on taking two days to get from Lubbock to Nashville, running Lubbock to DFW the evening of the 19th, then a more liesurely run across Arkansas/Missisipi/Alabama on the 20th, finishing with a short run into Nashville on the morning of the 21st. (This parallels our trip to KC last year. )
After the Natl. meet, we're planning on the Sunday run to the Dragon, then Dragon on Monday with a short leg back towards Texas that evening. Tuesday night somewhere between Knoxville and home, then into Lubbock on Wednesday.
We'd love to run with some kindred Sols anywhere coming or going!

I'm not sure how you are planning to drive, but I live in So. Mississippi, and we're going to Jackson, then hopping the Natchez Trace. It should be a nice drive, if you can get to it.
Our plan is to leave from DFW on Wednesday (late morning) and stop for the night in Little Rock. Thursday morning head out for Nashville, arrive early afternoon.
We will be returning to DFW on Sunday, stopping again for the night in Little Rock & making it back to DFW Monday afternoon.

We are presently planning to go Lubbock to Denton, TX on the 19th, then on the 20th continue across Texas through Texarkana, southern Arkansas, and pick up the Trace in Kosciusko, MS where there is a really nice Bed & Breakfast (Maple Terrace Inn). Then up the Trace through Tupelo, and after a short side trip into Florence, AL, head on into Nashville by the afternoon of the 21st.

I just got off the phone with Roxanne at Maple Terrace Inn - I've got the Mohogany Room.
Byron, I gave her your name and asked her to hold a room for you!
Hope you don't mind!
I _do_ mind that you got the Mahogany room!
I will contact her today!
Let me warn you that K and I will be making two stops between the Maple Terrace and Nashville (Tupelo, MS andFlorence, AL) as I play disc golf and will use this opportunity to check these two states off of my "played disc golf in all 50 states" list. (BTW< Hawaii may prove problematic! )

I think Stuck, JR and I will be driving straight through from Dallas that Thursday, leaving early in the morning and taking the most direct route, 30 to Little Rock, 40 to Nashville. At least that kinda seems like the plan from discussing it at lunch the other day. I'll let them chime in.
Do you need a 4some for disc golf? Mulligans? Handicap? Improved lie?
You are more than welcome to join me. On an occasion like this, I usually play fast and Karen usually either stays in the car (in the shade ) or has me drop her off at some shopping place.
I'm calling Roxanne in just a few minutes.
