THE NEO 2010 Road Mapping & 4th of July BBQ

OK...so we have the potential for several people coming in from out of state and maybe even out of country (E-sarge)...

so let's do this right.

SATURDAY JULY 4TH 2009

we will assemble for some run mapping and then by 3 pm we will adjourn to my place for a BBQ

Here's what I have in mind. (I've got the meat covered)

sharkbite chicken (grilled and BBQ'd)
Burgers Brats and Dogs....
a pot of my chili.

then we'll need buns...salads....blue rooties(which can be made on site if we have the ingredients)...beer (Guinness is mandatory) and desserts.

I've got a wine cellar for those afficianodos

so ....first things first....

#1...who is coming (my gut tells me Howwee...GWG.. dashark and sharkbite)
probably the Warties (?)...DA1234 (?)...and a few more....

#2...if you are coming,.what can you bring to support the festivities ???

Obviously I will be there.

Our Starved Rock Run BBQ turned out excellent! We had a blast BBQ'ing after the run! May have been the best part.

I'll have to bring something easy like rootie stuffs or the like. Don't think the stuff will make it in my small cooler...especially if I have to overnight it along the way.

Well Jay...who knows! We're still running next weekend, so we'll see.

Unfortunately, the great Sol Commander won't be back in town until next Monday or Tuesday. I'll try to get some info out of him when he's back in the US!!!

He's back. I'm coming. E-sarge might be coming also. Info is in the 2010 mapping thread, but I'll copy it in here:

or at the start of SR751 (mm73) at 10. a.m.

Deerslayer: Is there a convenient place to meet on Saturday morning? If not, where's the Circle K?

If I don't hear back on the above, I'll see you all at I-77 & SR751 at 10AM.

most of the information was posted on the 2010 road mapping thread because the BBQ was cancelled due to lack of interest

However , Roy, I'm sure we can find a steak for you...just can't find an extra bed as my son will be home and GWG has the spare room.

Circle K (Exit 118 on i-77 south ...Massillon Rd Exit) 8:30 Sat a.m.

if anyone down south is coming...Danny...Pat.....
Sugar Creek Rest area 9 a.m....or at the head of SR751 at 9:15

We'll map 555 WEST in about 4 hours and have a late lunch in Wendy's in N-town.

Then....if time and people permit...we might try to do the Short run from 2-4 (I know Jay can't stay for that)

Thanks again for a great day of twisties, and a super dinner. Perhaps, in hindsight, 400 miles may have been a tad excessive, but it was sooo much fun I couldn't resist more, and I have no one to blame but myself. Note to self: bring Gatorade in the car next time instead of sodas

I got to see quite a few fireworks displays on the way back to Cleveland (including the lakefront displays, since I took I-77 all the way up). Very pretty (and more than a little smoky). The trip back across the border yesterday went well too.

Time for a car wash....
