Mark and I did an impromptu wine run yesterday and came up with a FANTASTIC Fall Equinox Cruise
SEPT. 20, 2008 HERE ARE THE DETAILS :

DATE: Saturday Sept. 20, 2008 (this is a rain or shine event because the total cruise is less than 40 miles long)
and we will be primarily indoors anyway....
All wineries have samplings...some are platters (usually under $5.00 for about 8 selections)..and most wines are reasonably priced under $15.00 (take out)

STARTING POINT:
FERRANTE WINERY {TAKE I-90 to Exit 218..go south on SR
534 1/4 mile to
SR 307...turn
west and go 1/2 mile to the winery}
Meet at 12 noon ...leave at 1 pm
leave Ferrante at 1 pm and travel 13 miles to
OLD FIREHOUSE WINERY in Geneva on the Lake
Arrive 1:30...leave at 2:30
travel 10 miles to
SOUTH RIVER VINEYARD arrive by 3 pm...leave at 4 pm
travel 2 miles to
CHALET DEBONNE WINERY ARRIVE 4 PM...reluctantly leave at 5pm. This place jumps and has a live band...good food and plenty of ambiance
Lastly...leave Debonne at 5 pm and travel 4 miles to
GRAND RIVER CELLARS ARRIVE 5 pm...leave when you wish.
Dinner will be at the Grand River Cellars..here is the menu.

Because this in on a single bill (my VISA ) this is
pay in advance, for 2 reasons.
#1...I need to secure a reservation because it is the height of the fall tourist season and they need an "almost" exact head count 2 weeks in advance
#2...relates to #1...I don't want a bunch of "I'm in's"...secure a reservation for same... and then only 10 show up because there is a bit of rain that day (you KNOW who you are)..because then i'm left for paying the 10 no-shows out of my own pocket.

There is also a Howard Johnson at the intersection of I-90 and SR 534 {440-466-1168} for those coming from afar that do not wish to drink and drive at the end of the day....no group rates are established due to the fact we don't have any idea who may show up.
