Well...problem may be solved regarding the co-pilot situation! Details to follow after tomorrow night!! Might not be able to post all the details though!!

My bad stud is fixed! But now I have an ABS issue, so my baby is back in the shop. It better be ready to go tomorrow night!

Well you gave me such an easy opening I couldn't resist. Not post all the details? Just do like you do when you don't want little kids to understand, spell it out. Oh wait, that wouldn't work either.

Well, if he backs out again...there will be nothing to tell!!

Cautiously optimistic once again. I told him he wasn't allowed to bail. No excuses.

Wait and see what tomorrow brings I guess.

just an FYI...

Hampton INN has us listed as NEO CAR SHOW...but if you mention the EVENT is Twisting to the River as well...you should have no problem getting a room.

The Super 8 "doesn't know how" to create an event- or so they tell me

so if you call the Super 8 you will have to say
that the rooms may be reserved in my name (Michael Tew...not Druid)
and that it is the Solstice Car club...NEO Twisting to the River event...for May2 & 3 2008

should not be a problem after the first couple of reservations are made

Otherwise he wanted me to put 25 rooms on my credit card to hold them......... N O T !!!

We just led a run of 18 cars. Great twisties separated by wide boulevards, planned catch-up points, printed specific instructions with turn-by-turn and maps. Worst problem was traffic lights at the beginning and separation in the train on twisties that caused some cars to take an alternate path. As a result, we could never get up to fun speeds. It became a parade. I like your maximum 10 cars groups deal. I want to experience it myself. (Plus, your twisties sound wicked ).

T2TR has no traffic lights and only a couple of stop signs and they don't detract from the "convoy" in any way.

We run in packs of 10 or less...so there is no re-grouping (except for Gang Warfare Girl's Parking lot of GLORY (or is it gory?))

You come west...you will see twisties like nowhere else in the east (including ToTD)

Ask those who have been there about the blind rises...the blind drop's offs ...the drop left- climb right...and the reverse.

roller coaster is a mild word to describe Triple-Nickel.

with all 2007 events over I guess we can start hyping this again.

There will be a pre-run scheduled for Nov. 24th 2007 ( alt day nov. 25th) for anyone interested in being either a road Captain or a sweeper.

Tentatively we have Coopcj7 and myself going out....Wartie is a maybe ...DA 1234 same.

If we get 50 cars next May we will need about 7 road Captains

Currently we have the following as probables

DRUID
DaShark
Coopcj7
Momssol
Wartie (if needed)

I know Chicago skyline could do it too...but he's too far away to come to the pre-runs
...he knows the middle of the course but not the new beginning or the closing

Coop is going to put the whole thing on GPS and Google maps by the end of november so all you GPS fanatics can lock it all it.

But that still doesn't tell you about the blind rises...etc...just where the curves are

and DEFINITELY not the intensity of the curves

I'll update the list shortly

Hey DA - Great meeting you at dinner Saturday night! Go Big 10!!

OK Kids...Let the Hype begin!!! I'm so bummed I have to wait 6 months to see everyone again and run the good twisties again!!!

CS, SV1 & I were chatting on the radios on the way back. We were trying to think of a good place to go where we could warm up say a week or 2 before this run. But I don't think there is anything decent within a few hours of us. Maybe along the Mississippi? I'll do some digging. I know I was much more tentative when we first started out until I got a good feel for the curves. I think if I could find something within a few hours to run hard in the week or 2 prior to the run, it would help me out a bit!

Let's shoot for 50 cars!! The more the merrier!!! Fire up the List SC!!!!!
