This is why you are The Great SC!!! I believe you are good to go now!
It would have helped had I read this post before we chatted. Cause I didn't get it at all! I'm so sorry my friend! I'm not sure I can apologize enough right now. I feel absolutely terrible. Feel free to stick your foot extremely far up my butt and give me a really, really, really bad time!! I'll disappear now!

there are three cars listed here that have advised me by PM that they are doing the run only.
They are on the list
What I am up against is advising the restaurant that we need 65 dinners
then 10 more show up on run day with cash in hand...and the restaurant suddenly has
to add more food to the buffet.
Personally I don't care how many cars come on the run. we have enough Road Captains to handle about 60 cars.....
but when we go to dinner only those pre-paid get a "bracelet" for the buffet
Gunny I appreciate your concerns
NEO Kappa club may not run with military precision...but we do have our ducks lined up.
No worries and I am by no means trying to get into your pudding. I had no doubt you have everything under control.
My posting has nothing to do with military precision or trying to influence that type of methodology on anyone. My input was soley based on our runs and coordination effort with the West Coast Kappa Car Club. I assist when asked, plan, and participate in these type of events to escape my military work environment, to spend time getting to know and enjoy the company of other Kappa owners, and have a great time. being out in my car on the open road is how I wind down from work stress.
Running it like a military operation would be outright BORING for everyone...
I track 71 government vehicles that are scattered and driving across the entire state of Michigan on a daily basis and that is only a small part of my job. I sure as heck don't want to do it on a weekend I have off.
I know I am new to this side of the country and no one over here has any clue about me as a person, but give it time and you'll quickly realize I am just a happy, easy going guy who just loves to get together, drive with friends, and help out where I can.
Simply, please don't take me or what I say the wrong way and I apologize if I came across that way.
Keep up the great job and I look forward to shaking your hand when I get there.

Not to worry all! The Great Sol Commander may have all the bases covered! He's in full on "run" mode! Or at least run planning mode right now! I'm not sure he does anything besides T2TR right now. Heck, I bet he's got a task list all set up either on a spreadsheet or in some sort of project management software!! With a critical path and all the possible scenarios of things that could happen (good and bad) and not 1, not 2, but at least 3 contingency plans for everything!!!
And that be why we nicknamed him The Sol Commandor (SC)!!
I could post the Real Men of Genius song again and the video clip AR made, but then his foot will be up my backside!!!

Yes.. I booked at the Hampton. I called them, the NEO CAR SHOW rate had expired (makes sense, I'm in late here as it is). They had open rooms, I booked one... not the same discount rate, but only $5 more with my AAA card (not AARP, totally different and I'm NO WHERE near that time yet).
As for money... well, I don't have checks, so I had to have my bank send one. If I could have used PayPal you'd have the money already! It should be there by the overly extended deadline, as it usually gets printed and mailed the following day (which should be today).
Think that's all that addressed me. Glad to see there are folks I know (yeah Joe's Crab Shack!), and looking forward to meeting all of those I don't know yet.

Wow, that's a long way. We'll be happy to have another to roll with. I believe thursday will be an early morning. I can't wait.
Yup...I believe it will be about a 7:00 am departure time. SV1 has a shorter ride to Champaign to meet me so he may get to sleep in a few minutes more than the rest of us!
I'm allowing an hour in Indy. We'll leave Indy at 1:00 pm Eastern. If we all make it there on time, we'll leave as soon as we're finished eating and the tanks are full!

I always forget about the time zone change. I rarely have to deal with that.
Same here. I had to double check that Indy was an hour ahead this year! Doesn't matter, though. We know we're losing an hour somewhere along the way. Gotta plan for it. I'm allowing 8 hrs total and I think that's going to be about on the money. Mapquest says 7 hrs and 40 minutes for me. By the time I meet SV1 and get back on the road...it'll be 8 hrs.
