Hi Guys!

We plan to leave around noon on Friday - should be at Hampton by 2:30 or 3:00

D2 - looks like we'll be bringing the HWB beverages with us - if we leave the top up & take them out of the cartons - I think they will all fit. Who needs clothes?? Do we have a way/place to chill them on Friday - or will we need to find a cooler once we get there?

Just thought I'd throw this out there to anyone going out to T2TR on Saturday morning from Columbus...

A few of us are meeting at the Grove City Sonic at 7:45 and be on the road by 8am. That will put us there in Newcomerstown at the McD's around 10am after refueling.

If anyone is interested in tagging along, send me a PM.

Well aren't you just SPECIAL!!!!!!

I passed 2000 posts the other day.

That was the Steak and Shake I was referring to. Glad to see it will be easy to find! Thanks!

Now if you can tell me how long it will take to get from the east side of Indianapolis to that Steak and Shake you'll be my hero!!!!

BTW...

9 More DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Well,

From I465 on the east side of Indy to the Ohio border will take you about an hour as it is 67 miles. From the Ohio border to the Pickerington exit it is 112 miles but may take you more than 2 hours as you'll have to pass through Dayton and Columbus to get there.

It looks like you'll be hitting Columbus during rush hour traffic and I would recommend you NOT go straight thru the city at that time of day (traffic leaving the city heading east can be pretty bad). You'd be better off taking the outerbelt I270 SOUTH around to the east side and then pick up I70 again over there (although traffic will bottleneck a bit at the merge back onto I70 on the east side, most days it's better than creeping straight through the city). The Pickerington exit (112a) will be the second exit once you merge back onto I70 east.

All that being said, I would alot for about 3.5 hours (+/- 10 minutes) from the east side of Indy to the Steak n Shake. Hope that helps a bit.

FYI - From the Steak n Shake it will take you a little less than 2 hrs. to get to Newcomerstown. Also, watch your speed in and around Columbus... the SuperTroopers and Columbus' finest have been out fishing a lot lately... and they'll only let you get away with about 8MPH over the posted limit.

Excellent! I will adjust the schedule accordingly then. I thought looping around the south side would probably be the best way to go. We will probably do that then depending on what time we hit Columbus. I had 1 hr to the border right, but wasn't sure how long it would take to get to Columbus. I may cheat this time frame somewhat. I'm allowing some extra room up front. Probably will borrow from it if I need to in order to make the connection in Columbus and dinner Thursday night.

I have to be careful speedwise. I've only put 100 miles on the new differential so I have 400 miles of break-in left. If it were just me and I wasn't breaking the car back in I'd push some limits, but I'm not going to go much over 70 with a group. I may not even be our leader for the day. TBD!

Thanks again for the info!! I appreciate it!

question to the group: we are trying to help a young Veteran get his Monte Carlo Intimidator back to him. It is here in Michigan and he lives in Penn. We're hoping to meet him at the Hampton. If we were to talk him into joining us on the run (you know, just to let him know how it feels to FLY in civies!!), would any of you have an open seat? My hubby is going to be my copilot.

I've got an empty seat, and I'm sure others do as well. We will definitely accomodate him if he wants to join us on the run.

I'll be flying solo also if he wants to ride along with a fellow Marine. Ironic, I was just in Philly early last week for a conference. What's his name? I may know him.
