Crap!!! I forgot to post at midnight last night! Oh well...it's still early enough...
1 month from today the caravans will begin to converge on Newcomerstown, OH and that means...
1 MORE MONTH!
1 MORE MONTH!!
1 MORE MONTH!!!
Unfortunately...as some of you know, I've had a few personal issues going on lately. It is due to these issues that I am forced to withdrawl from this event. I can't believe I just had to say that.

The timing would make it appear so, but that is not the case.
There are some health issues going on with my dad and my good friend, Soup. I need to stay close to home for awhile in case I have to get back to Iowa quick if my Dad needs me. I've spent the last 2 weekends there in fact...so we'll see what happens with it. I'm really sorry.

Sorry to hear that. Hoping the best for you. D. Allen
Thanks DA! Pray for my dad and Soup! Soup is at the doc right now and dad is on his way to the doc. Keeping my fingers crossed that both will have positive outcomes!

OK, unfortunately...I have to let you all off the hook due to a possible back up Road Captain issue. Sorry if anyone was concerned about my little April Fools Joke! The issues here would have to get much worse for me to miss all you guys in May!
However, my dad did have surgery to repair a 20+ yr old hernia. He had a few issues, but is doing well. He is at the doc right now to hopefully have a catheter removed. The hernia was so bad the doc is not sure the repair will work. He'll go back for a follow up in 1 month.
Soup was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer. The doc removed a 4" tumor (weighed a little over 1 pound). Malignant cells were found in the tumor. He had bloodwork and a CAT scan done this morning. He has been advised to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for further evaulation and possible courses of treatment depending on the outcome of today's test. So the Root for Soup campaign is on like Donkey Kong. I love Soupy to pieces! He's only been married a year, he's only 31 (32 in 2 weeks!) and I would go insane at work without him here! So pray like non other that the cancer was contained in that stupid gremlin tumor and one of my favorite people in the world will only have to go through 5 years of follow ups and nothing more!
So thanks for the kind thoughts! I know didn't say much about my Dad and Soup. I did a little on the Sky forum. And it's all partially why I've been in a downer mood lately. Let's hope they both make out just fine!!

OK, here's the deal...if I absolutely have to...I'll be a back-up. But I'd rather see if we can twist CS's arm because he would be so much better at it than myself. I'm a much better follower in the land of twisties. If it were my turf, this would be a no brainer and I'd do it.
However...if I do end up being an RC...I'd really like a navigator. If I have to step up to the plate and someone has a passenger willing to navigate for me, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I'll be too busy trying to watch for turns, etc and my group won't have as much fun.
I can't believe I said I'd do that...some April Fool's joke huh??? That's what I get for pulling pranks on people...Back-up Road Captain.

Hey...at least I did work an honest avenue though!! My dad truly did have surgery on Good Friday and was in the hospital for 3 days. Soupy truly did have a tumor removed and it was found to have malignant cells.
Just got a little update from Soup and they want him to visit the Mayo Clinic next week...April 9-10. From what I can find, this can be a very aggressive tumor and can spread anywhere, but the most likely targets are the lungs, bones and liver. He had this tumor a long time and didn't know it. It was a birthmark and started changing 7-10 years ago. He also has a good friend in a similar situation (diagnosed at the end of December) and his prognosis is not good. It's a sad deal as his friend has a baby on the way and may not make it until June. So it's a tough job getting Soupy to not think he's in a similar boat! It's still scary though...the docs are moving quick now.

It's quite alright. I only did it as I knew it was somewhat believable with everything going on with Dad and Soup! So shame on me for playing with fire on April Fool's Day!
