GWG says i've got a cob up my butt...maybe she's right
the old line..."the check is in the mail"
Well you did have a cob up it the other night! I have a feeling it's only going to go that much further up it in the next 3 weeks! However, I think you're being too nice regarding the dinner money. You snooze...you lose out on din-din. I would have given everyone maybe 2 weeks before the run and that's it.
You're just in run mode. Lots of loose ends to tie up in the next 3 weeks. (And if you never seen The Great SC in run mode...it's a sight to behold! I find it extremely amusing!!!)
So again...if you need any list help, blah, blah, blah...I'll get it done. Here's what we've kinda discussed:
Thursday night dinner list
Friday run list
Friday night dinner list
Saturday run list
Saturday night dinner list
Registration/Waivers
Run Group List for Saturday (and possibly Friday as well)
Now, if you want me to gather some of that info, since you're busy with other stuff...I can do. Feed me!
I'm almost thinking we could throw the waiver out there as a PDF so people can have it filled out and ready to go. Maybe save on a huge crowd gathering in a small area trying to fill out stuff like that on Saturday. I realize many people will forget to bring it.
Did I miss anything?

Oh and one more thing...I offered to do what I can from back here. Now...if you want to do it all yourself and stress about it (which you'll do anyway), that's fine. But if you do so then you better pull the cob outta your butt unless the circumstances require it. If you don't...I will!
Guess you probably better start practicing bending over. I'll be sure to twist and I'll yank really hard!

This is why you are The Great SC!!! I believe you are good to go now!
It would have helped had I read this post before we chatted. Cause I didn't get it at all! I'm so sorry my friend! I'm not sure I can apologize enough right now. I feel absolutely terrible. Feel free to stick your foot extremely far up my butt and give me a really, really, really bad time!! I'll disappear now!

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'!!!!!!!!!! Got that from a junk e-mail but it works!!!
there are three cars listed here that have advised me by PM that they are doing the run only.
They are on the list
What I am up against is advising the restaurant that we need 65 dinners
then 10 more show up on run day with cash in hand...and the restaurant suddenly has
to add more food to the buffet.
Personally I don't care how many cars come on the run. we have enough Road Captains to handle about 60 cars.....
but when we go to dinner only those pre-paid get a "bracelet" for the buffet
Gunny I appreciate your concerns
NEO Kappa club may not run with military precision...but we do have our ducks lined up.
No worries and I am by no means trying to get into your pudding. I had no doubt you have everything under control.
My posting has nothing to do with military precision or trying to influence that type of methodology on anyone. My input was soley based on our runs and coordination effort with the West Coast Kappa Car Club. I assist when asked, plan, and participate in these type of events to escape my military work environment, to spend time getting to know and enjoy the company of other Kappa owners, and have a great time. being out in my car on the open road is how I wind down from work stress.
Running it like a military operation would be outright BORING for everyone...
I track 71 government vehicles that are scattered and driving across the entire state of Michigan on a daily basis and that is only a small part of my job. I sure as heck don't want to do it on a weekend I have off.
I know I am new to this side of the country and no one over here has any clue about me as a person, but give it time and you'll quickly realize I am just a happy, easy going guy who just loves to get together, drive with friends, and help out where I can.
Simply, please don't take me or what I say the wrong way and I apologize if I came across that way.
Keep up the great job and I look forward to shaking your hand when I get there.

Not to worry all! The Great Sol Commander may have all the bases covered! He's in full on "run" mode! Or at least run planning mode right now! I'm not sure he does anything besides T2TR right now. Heck, I bet he's got a task list all set up either on a spreadsheet or in some sort of project management software!! With a critical path and all the possible scenarios of things that could happen (good and bad) and not 1, not 2, but at least 3 contingency plans for everything!!!
And that be why we nicknamed him The Sol Commandor (SC)!!
I could post the Real Men of Genius song again and the video clip AR made, but then his foot will be up my backside!!!

Yes.. I booked at the Hampton. I called them, the NEO CAR SHOW rate had expired (makes sense, I'm in late here as it is). They had open rooms, I booked one... not the same discount rate, but only $5 more with my AAA card (not AARP, totally different and I'm NO WHERE near that time yet).
As for money... well, I don't have checks, so I had to have my bank send one. If I could have used PayPal you'd have the money already! It should be there by the overly extended deadline, as it usually gets printed and mailed the following day (which should be today).
Think that's all that addressed me. Glad to see there are folks I know (yeah Joe's Crab Shack!), and looking forward to meeting all of those I don't know yet.
