Holy crap batman!! OK I'll have to let Dino know there will be 3 more for Thursday!

DA - This is Thursday we're coming through and not Friday just to make sure you weren't thinking Friday. Do you have a good meet up spot off of I-70 just east of Columbus where I-71 comes in? Dino suggested Exit 112 or after. He said there is a rest area at Exit 139, but if we could meet up sooner, I think that would be better. I saw there were a ton of places right off of 112 and was thinking we could meet right there.

I just shot Dino a text to let him know there will be 3 more for dinner on Thursday! They are probably on 555 now...or maybe almost done with it!

So the NEO Far West Caravan will include:

ihawk95
SkyVue1
ChicagoSkyline
mikep77
RMFNSKY
BLKGXP
KYGXP
Darkwing
Bryan1969
DA1234

I'm counting 10!! This is most excellent!!! 12 more freakin days!!!!! AAAAAAYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

NEO Far West Caravan Radio Reminder...

I know I've said this before to most of you...

Bring your radios for the ride over cause we'll be chatting along the way! For those of you coming from Central IL, St. Louis and Chicago...you may want to have both charged up. Mine went dead around Columbus last time. I figure I'll switch from one to the other when one dies!!

I will have a 3rd radio if someone needs it.

The chat was fun last year!!! I'll be sure to call out cows. Probably too early for corn.

That should be plenty! I would think you guys will be OK with them since you won't be using them until later in the day.

I may be able to make it the entire trip with one this time. It'll be close. I forgot that last year SkyBaby and I were chatting on them as soon as we left Minonk! I won't fire mine up until I meet SV1 in Champaign. That gives me another hour of talk time!!

OK, I saw on the net during my initial invest-i-magations there was a Steak and Shake off of one of the 112 Exits...Maybe 112A. If it's right off the exit, we'll meet there. Trying to stay with the Steak and Shake theme, just because!!

ETA depends on how long it takes us to get from the east side of Indy to the east side of Columbus. If someone knows...please post. If you don't, I'll look it up and try to make my best guess. I'm thinking it will be 3:00 to 3:30 ish.

actually there is fast food every exit from 103 on

There is a McD's at 103 and a WENDY's at 105....then another McD's at 107

as soon as you split from 71N (i.e. exit 103...you can make a hook up)

OK...more on this later...just a quickie

Today's final run was perfeca-mundo...three cars running balls to the wall...what a blast

dodged the rain too...

OK...get ready

Start to finish...265 miles completed in 5 hrs of very intense driving.
Actually out of 265 miles less than 50 are "Interstate"

So be prepared

Suggest you set trip meter #1 to zero...so when you start getting tired and say "is it almost over yet"...you can look at trip meter #1...and say ...damn...50 more miles

Trust me...you will be entertained and you will be tired at the end
BUT PERMAGRIN will be everywhere

You came for an event and that is what you are getting.

BUT...even the cruisers will get a workout

I ran #3 of 3 today and I loved it

Stories to follow shortly about our continuous good luck today...with weather...locals & LEO's (yes them too...thanks Mark)

Must grill a steak for Chilli ..back in an hour (or however long it takes to drink a half bottle of red)

According to Google Earth it's aprox 180 miles from East Indy to East side of Columbus.

Figure avg speed 65 maybe 70 you are looking at 3 to 3 1/2 hours put us there about 4 to 4:30 pm eastern. Another 105 miles to Newscomertown so you will probalby get there by 6 to 6:30ish.

Alot of this time line depends on traffic any delays for construction and we are running late

I figure 180 miles at 60 mph is 3 hrs on the button. Speed limit in Indiana is 70. We'll cruise slightly over it. 180 miles at 70 mph is 2 hrs and 34 minutes.

OK, let's do this...we'll plan on leaving the Columbus by 4:00 pm. That gives us 3 hrs to make it. If we get on the road earlier than that...great. If not then we make it to Newcomerstown by 5:30 pm. The groups should plan on arriving at the Columbus stop at 3:45 pm.

Sound better?

Gotta make a point ---cause it came up in conversation today

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE CARRYING

There will be a lot of old friends getting together this weekend
and a lot of practical jokes are in the offing

For those of you with CCW permits

We do not want to know...we do not want to SEE

if you see something and you want to react...step BACK...it might be a practical joke

Please people..this is a fun weekend

If I see you with a SIG or a Taurus or a Glock...you will be asked to leave

Respect the MANY

we know you are there protecting us...just be VERY low key about it

I have no problem with any time frame. I'm just hoping that we don't run into much traffic or construction. You know the old saying
