'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'!!!!!!!!!! Got that from a junk e-mail but it works!!!
I went on a handful of the roads in the SE 77/70 corner. It was sprinkling on and off with temps in the 50s was would be too cold for top down regardless. One of the most promising roads getting a new coat was 379. The bottom half was fresh with no center line, middle was really rough but the top half had a nice flow to it with most of turns open enough to see what was going on whether it be branches, leaves, or Amish buggies.
I pretty much had open roads with occasional old timer putting along 25 mph'ish. Around noon traffic got a little heavier. The leave coverage was heavy on the roads along with a few 3 inch diameter branches from the winding night. I did see my biggest crop of monkey balls on the road. So large over the road you could have used a shovel to scoop up the smashed ones. No air damns were hurt in the encounter.
Location: buzzard..what buzzard..do you see a buzzard..I didn't see a buzzard...or that little sparrow either- or dat squirrel

I had to go look for 379...not one we've ever done.
Wartie...me thinks next time we do 513 we need to bail at Quaker City (or Batesville {better} ) and check out this road
I know many of you are going to KY to run the track. Can we do something for next weekend for those not going? I am not a AGG driver, I'll be bringing up the rear. The weather here has sucked for the last how many weekends? I work PM shift and most days I'm at work it's nice, the weekend is wet....... If you guys wana do something, but don't want to wait on me, no hard feelings. Two weekends and my car goes night night for the winter, plates expire.
if it rains- we cruise...can use it as a training seminar
Sharon/ Jim...you still coming?
Sorry, I made the mistake of announcing my retirement a little early. Now I hear daily--"Before you go, would you please...?" I have been so on the go and involved in so many things, I have to have the weekends to collapse and I haven't been on the site since I first responded. We put the cars away for the winter, but if weather turns nice for a weekend, we may still slip over to just drive the route. The G-6 is not a Solstice but we wouldn't be playing necessarily, either.

Saturday Nov. 21st
I'll be leaving N-town at 9:30 to 10.am range ....
Taking 258-342 as usual to Freeport then down to 22 and 513
At Quaker City ( approx 1 hr into run) I will take 265 to 147 to 379.
I will then follow 379 down to 78 (Thanks to Normsky) probably another hour there
At 78 I will go west to 146/513 and climb 513 northbound to 22
and then back through Freeport via 342/258
Expect to be back at N-town around 1..for a quick lunch
Will then take Short Stack ...If i'm alone I'll go counter clockwise
Should be complete by 3 pm
If interested - post here. Otherwise i'll go mapping alone
Michigan/OSU party instead for me. Roses not included! . Hopefully they'll have completed 379. You'll know if they still have paving equipment parked along side the road.
