The adrenaline rush finally wore off yesterday afternoon and i slept like a bear in hibernation last night. Today? Even though i have run the SOS once and the T2TR twice in the last two weeks (with about 4-5 solo runs on parts of the courses), I still can't wait to do it all over again!!!!
BTW, I noted that for SOS group I had one with "cat" in the name and two with "dog" in the name. Was that used a criteria for placement after IHAWK rode with me and confirmed my status as a dog?
For the record, I can confirm that IHAWK is extreme road worthy. When i was blowing tire smoke, she was laughing and fist pumping... The audio attached to the video will show she did not express any alarm and was actually invigorated...
I'll post the video. We had issues with Dino's computer yesterday morning. The IT guy here at work is going to be nice enough to let me install the phone software on my computer. As soon as he does, I'll post cause everyone I've showed that to has started cracking up so far!!

i did warn you... Once people see that and realize they are in my group, there will be a mass defection to other groups (I am riding with that guy?????? No way!!!!!!)
Serious, it was a great tire burn and intentional. I saw I was hot in the corner, the turn was clear and i opted to scrub speed before turning hard. If i had not done so, your head would have been in my lap (and on video). That would have been much harder to explain to folks (especially with you laughing with your head in my crotch) and as we all know, i am a gentleman and couldn't allow that... It is my story and i am sticking to it.

Druid, sweetie, you have me in your midling-aggressive group for Saturday T2TR, and I don't think I can do that. Deerslayer's midling group would be fine, and if not, a cruiser will do. I didn't think you'd want me following you in your group...... Love ya!
I'm just guessing here... but JLW might want to move up from Cruisers on Saturday to a middling at least. He's driven with me... he's capable of Middling, I'm sure of that.

That's fine. We had no idea on the experience level, so we put him with DA Friday (who will be a spirited cruiser I might add) with the expectation that there will be some group shuffling on Saturday (up and down for the newbies) based on Friday's run.

Location: buzzard..what buzzard..do you see a buzzard..I didn't see a buzzard...or that little sparrow either- or dat squirrel
Let me explain clearly..
WE ARE NOT GOING TO PLEASE EVERYBODY !!!
THERE ARE 6 GROUPS OF 6....on friday..and 7 on saturday
NOT EVERBODY is going to be where they want to be or think they should be.
and armchair quarterbacking doesn't help.
This is a work in progress....and we will do the best we can to accomodate\
as many as we can.
But we will not be making 2 car cruiser groups just
so we can have 10 car agressive groups.
If you have a serious concern...at least give us the benefit of the doubt
and try out the run we have on Friday.
Last year a member who thought he/she should be aggressive changed
his/her mind after the Friday run and decided they were better as middling to cruiser.
So...before i tear these sheets up 6 times every day....

Can't wait to see it.

Allow me to translate the Sol Commando's post (cause I know you all are thinking...Jeesh!!! This guy is grouchy!! OK, maybe I just think that...quite often! )...
Basically...Saturday's run is a roller coaster track for a car. And I'm serious. That description doesn't even do it justice. People get sick on this run...every time...even with dramamine. And not only is it just a roller coaster, but it's 3-1/2 hrs or so of driving on Friday, and 4-5 hrs on Saturday. Saturday is challenging and tiring.
Friday is an excellent warm up for Saturday. On Saturday, the roads will get progressively more challenging until we reach the feature road - 555. You get a little break after that and then a few more twisties right before the end of the run.
That being said, it's best to test the waters on Friday's SOS run. It's still a great run, some nice twisties, with only a few blind rises. Kinda gets your feet wet. If you find after Friday's run, you'd like a quicker pace...you can move up on Saturday. If you move up on Saturday and find it too difficult, you can alert your Road Captain and wait for the next group to come along They will be a little slower and you should find their pace more comfortable.
What no one wants is for someone to not be able to keep up with the rest of the group. It's not fun for anyone. And it's not safe. You don't want to lose sight of the car ahead of you. They give you a very good idea of what you need to do to get through the next curve or hill. Also, if a group starts to get too spread out, it's hard to maintain clear radio contact in the unlikely event something happens (like a flat tire...which has happened a few times...or car trouble...or stopping to yak on the side of the road).
If you are uncomfortable where we have placed you, please feel free to post or send a PM to the Great Sol Commander aka Druid-2. Ruthie is a good example. She was uncomfortable running in an aggressive group...we are happy to move her.
If you are a newbie, then give Friday a try in your assigned group, unless you've got some mad driving skills...such as racing experience, etc. That's fine...just bring it to our attention so we can place you accordingly.
Dino is correct, we can't please everyone. Those who are flexible will do their best to accommodate those who wish to jump groups. Their flexibility will help please as many as possible. And you know, you can always come back and run faster next time! And if you still aren't happy...well then I'll just GWG your sorry tail!!!
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation! And suffering through my long winded post!
