Matt
there are 40 rooms avbl and only 10 taken so far...call him back !!!
unless he meant the non-smolers are all taken...yes they are
Dude.. didn't know about the asthma.. kidding aside, be safe... If you have to stay in another place, that is cool... If you need to get a ride back if on Rootie overdose, GWG and I can drive you and Nikki back.. (okay, that is a scarey thought). Serious man... we will help in any way needed.
Thanks to those messages about asthma!
My asthma isn't bad really, but I never know how bad a smoking room will be and the effect it will have on me... so, I stay out of them. I can handle smoke in restaurants (but always take non-smoking seats), etc... and heck, I've been known have a cigar with the guys every now and then too. It's not bad, it's just hard to predict "how bad" it's going to be.. so I keep it simple and stay away when I can. If I'm awake, I can tell when it's getting to me and I can get out of the situation... but when I'm sleeping, that's a whole different situation.
We booked through Hilton Honors, got king non-smoking for all three nights. No crawling through windows for me!
After seeing Kim's post I went on my corporate travel site and looked at rates... I pay a few bucks more on the first night (April 30th), but it's the same rate as the NEO discount after that, so I canceled my smoking room under the NEO block and got my own non-smoking room.
I posted on the Sky side but looks like all the action is over here!
Ihawk & D2... Sign me up!!!
Middling all weekend... T2TR virgin!
I booked today... double queens. Non smoking for all three nights. Natasha assisted me. As soon as I said I was with the car club she said April 30th and I said yep!
The only thing is that the room is not within the block of rooms, this is fine by me because I am still in the same hotel. So I think there are still rooms available just not within the original block.

Actually, the only potential issue in not being in the "block" is the potential of noise complaints (especially if we have a FBH overdose). As long as you don't volunteer your room for "hallway bowling" or relocate the rootie fest there, it should be cool. We can be a bit wild; however, the hotel folks seem to get a kick out of us and work with us (They love Druid). They just have to stay responsive to their other customers.
Even if Rooties do hurt the brain a bit, it is not like we light ourselves on fire and run through the halls tripping fire alarms... On the other hand... having people enter and exit via the window in the meeting room (along with a pizza delivery)... I just consider that respect for the hotel patrons with a general "what the hell" approach to life....
T2TR virgin? Welcome my friend... I remember my first... Changed me forever...
