You'll be up there just after I leave work on Friday I'm guessing. Nikki and I won't be up there until after sunset... but we will see everyone at the mall at 10 AM. Once everyone has arrived (or we hit 10:30) we will be leaving. Remember, Shell gas station is across the street, fill up... it's 240 miles of driving, so a full tank is needed.
I'm going to bring copies of the route in an overall and some detailed sections as well. If anyone has a GPS.. that would be great in case we do get lost! I'm bringing my GRMS radios, if you have some bring them. They certainly help in communicating from car to car. If you have extra's, bring those as well just in case.
Ok.. I've added a PDF of the route to both this post and the original first post with all of the information.
I have two printed copies I am bringing with me. One for me (leading) and one for the last car in the group. Prior to leaving the mall parking lot I will exchange cell phone numbers as well, so we should always be able to get in touch via the radios, or cell phones if there is coverage. Plus, everyone should be able to have a map now as well.
For the map I've tried not to make it too detailed, but providing smaller maps for the major turns or confusing sections. I've traveled a lot of these roads, and they are marked fairly well... but I'm not saying I won't make a wrong turn at all!
Everyone travel safe, and see you Saturday morning!

Thanks Rich for planning this great run. We had a great time. It's too bad it can't be warmer when the colors change. Wish we had a bigger turn out but was neat that we had eight different colored cars, no duplicates. Only needed a green and a silver to make one of everything.
Great pictures Jeff! This tour is worth it just for the beautiful sceenery.

The route needs a little tweaking in and around East Jordan, but overall I think it went well. As mentioned this weekend I'll plan on moving this to the 2nd weekend in October and work with other boarder states to make sure we don't conflict with plans. It was a great, but I think another week and the colors would really shine.
Nikki and I both had a great time. We made it safely back to Detroit Saturday night (well.. Sunday morning by the time we got there) and she had an awesome run today at the half marathon!
Thanks again to all who came... next year will be even better!
We would have been the green car but decided not to go this year. The pictures are great and looks like everyone was having fun. I will keep an eye on the forum and maybe we'll be at next year's or another.
