I have a very good friend that has the machines to do embroidery on Golf shirts, T-shirts, Hats, Jackets, even Leather Jakets. These are professional machines. she does this as a buisiness out of her home. If we can agree on a logo I can have her stitch up some samples of hats and shirts and we can post them on the site to see how our members like them. Let me know -Bill-

Ok.. so the site is up and active, it's just currently hidden from view on the MKC website. Right now I need to work on getting the graphics to work better, as a graphic for a T-shirt, polo/golf shirt, and a hat are all different sizes and resolutions to work out well.
So.. it's going to be a little longer until I can get that all done... I have a day job still (thankfully, I mean.. it *is* Michigan after all, right?) and need to do that at some point!
Next question is this... do we:
1) Sell at cost
2) Sell at a profit
If we choose #2, I'd like to see feedback as to what we do with the money for the club. If we collect a profit, then *all* money will be transparent and accounted for openly on the website. I need to look into how this works, as then I believe there are tax ramifications that play into all of this. It appears that I would have to count the profit as personal income, and pay taxes on it unless the club sold it... but the club has to be a registered organization which it currently is not.
So... if we decided to sell at a profit, so the club has funds... we need to know what to do with those funds, and openly account for it so all members know how much money there is, where it resides at all times, and how it's used to benefit the club.
Rich.....can't we just use the site as a "stepping stone" and order direct from the producers?
Not exactly sure what you are asking here...
Yes, the store is simply a store front, all orders will be placed, filled, charged, and shipped from the producer.
The only question was what to set the prices at. I can set them at cost (i.e. No profit) or I can set them higher than cost, and I will get the "profit" sent back to me for the club.
For now I'll simply set it at cost as it really looks like it's going to be a pain to handle money for the club, and frankly I'm not sure what to do with any money the club would generate. I like the idea of not having membership fees, and it's allowed us to grow to over 80 members now... one of the largest non-national Kappa clubs that I've seen.
If there is a need for the club to generate cash flow, we can always change the prices on products and start to do so if the members think it's the way to go.
Still working on graphics... if anyone has ideas they would like to see, let me know.

Let me know if this offer still stands...
I've been meeting with my graphics / printing guy (who does this sort of work) and we have something that should work. He also has some very nice shirts (thinking golf shirts for those who mentioned it) compared to some other places I have been working with.
The only drawback is that we would have to collect orders and process them in batches of at least 12. Otherwise the costs are too prohibitive.
Would people be open to doing a "pre" order, and then I could provide shipping dates once the order reached the minimum?
Also.. on colors we have a range of choices, but cost wise if we can use one design on multiple colors it works better. That means most likely no white polo / golf shirts or hats. If that's an issue... then please speak up.
