We did pre run today for this run and everything is looking good. It looks like the total run time (this does not include stops or lunch or the tour) is just short of 4 hours. It took us 2 hours to get to Elk Creek and the same amount of time to get back to our ending point at US 1 and RT150. Not as many "banjo roads" this time but there are a few
I hope to be able to make the run from Lawrenceburg to Elk Creek without a break unless it is necessary as there are no good stopping points in the first part of the route. Assuming we can do this we will arrive at Elk Creek at 12 pm.
If everyone is willing to do the wine tour we will spend about 2 1/2 hours there and then do the return run to Lawrenceburg. There is a break in the return run at about the 1 hour point and another hour to the end of the run makes this run approximately 6 1/2 hours total so we should arrive back at the Lawrenceburg around 4:30 or 5:00 pm
If you don't want to do the wine tour please post here and let me know so I can make a list. If anyone wants to just do the run and not the tour I will lead this group back and JRinKy will lead the wine tour back.
Hope to see all of you there. Should be a great run and most likely some beautiful foliage to.

I have been in contact with Elk Creek, and I am working on a tour that does not include wine or food. We are still trying to get the details worked out. The normal tour includes, at a minimum, a wine tasting and a cheese plate. Others include complimentary wine and a full meal, which is the reason for allowing 1-1/2 hours and for the relatively high cost. These tours also require several days advance notice. The basic tour only takes 20 minutes, so it would fit the schedule a bit better. When I get more details I will post them.

Long range forecast looks good, maybe not a "top down" day but we will take it. This is a rain or shine event either way so we will be there. As for the time factor with a 10 am start we hope to be at Elk Creek by 12 or 12:30 at the latest, just going by the history of our runs we will be there about 1 1/2 hrs for the lunch portion, if the 20 min tour can be setup it would most likely fall within the 1 1/2 hr lunch time frame, so I hope to depart Elk Creek by no later than 2:30 assuming a short "rest" stop on the way back to the starting point we should be back to Lawrenceburg by 5 as planned.
If the wine tour does not happen I would be more than happy to plan a run next summer to Elk Creek explicitly for the purpose of doing the tasting and tour.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.................
