I'm sure this has been covered somewhere here but I couldn't find it when doing a search. Can I get some thoughts on the best one out there ? or is it really just a personal preference...... I am looking at Redline which seems like a good choice.

Thanks for all responses in advance,

This is a can of worms, the Red Line is excellent oil, is it any better than any other? Might as well ask who is the best canidate for President. If it meets the required spec. it will work fine.

Agreed!

For synthetics, we recommend Redline, Mobil 1, Castrol and Valvoline.

Ok I have it now 1 quart each of Redline, Mobil 1, Castrol, Valvoline and Royal Purple. I should be covered.

Actually I use Castrol syn, been using it for 30 years and it's mostly just habit now. I run Bel-Ray in the bike. It's air cooled, makes it a little more important.

If you're a Christopher Walken fan (and even if you aren't!), look up 'Weapon of Choice' on YouTube for a fun few minutes

In support, go to the Royal Purple website or do a search on the Hot Rod magazine website, you will find some interesting data. I have been using it for about five years. I always cut apart the oil filter when I change oil. I change oil a lot because I race a lot, only after changing to Royal Purple was the filter totally void of any metal particle matter. I used another popular synthetic before the RP.

Motul - that's the stuff that smells like coconuts. One of the local performance shop uses that in their race engines.
