I currently have a Stage II turbo that I will be changing out to a DDM Stage II Super Charger. This should happen in the next few weeks, as soon as I receive my kit from DDM.

I'm just wondering, from others that all ready have a DDM Super Charger, what are you seeing on your DIC in terms of gas milage. The turbo yeilds great gas milage. I currently average about 34.8 MPG. This is about 75% highway, and about 25% around town.

The numbers won't effect whether I go with the S/C or not, that decision has all ready been made, but I was just wondering. Thanks!

By the way, I'm sure someone will ask why the change, and I don't want this thread to get hijacked to a turbo vs. super charger thread, so I'll tell you that my personal opinion is that the low end torque and instant response of a S/C is more to my liking for a daily driver, than the higher RPM power of a turbo. My opinion only!

it varies for me depending on how hard you push it but anywhere from +/- 28 to +/- 34

Stage II here

24 around town

30 on the highway

I have seen it as low as 4.6 with my foot firmly planted on the floor

So far on Stage II I'm a little below 24 with probably 65% highway, but I've been in the boost quite a bit .

My story is similar.

Around town, playing with it, never below 23.

Haven't done much hwy driving, but it shows 30 when I do (again, with some playin').

Come to think of it I'm always playing with it...those dinosaurs died for a good reason!!

Shadow,

Have you ever verified that mileage with the old method of x miles driven divided by y gallons of gas put back in at next fill? The reason why I am asking is that on the Hahn tune the MAF is rescaled and will report higher gas mileage on the DIC than you are actually getting. Randy learned real quick when he picked up Carl's car that the gas mileage displayed on the DIC with the Hahn is not correct. The supercharger kit though does not rescale the MAF and the reported gas mileage on the DIC will still be correct, just like stock.

Hope that helps!
Dave

So for the sake of all the other forum members with N/A's and to avoid waiting for the question...what are you going to do with your turbo? Will you be selling it?

Good to know! The DIC has always been within 2mpg of manual calcuation. It is an absolute marvel that supercharged 2.4's are getting better milage than my stock 2.4. I'm usually around 24-25mpg with a good deal of highway cruising.
It doesn't really matter, this is the fun car. I suspect I will be aiming for single digits when I finally order up the kit!
BTW, I'd love to see some fully expanded tables and paramters of what is/can be changed on our ECM's. GM must have given us a pretty crumby tune - every reflash out there is yielding more power and economy - N/A T/C or S/C!

Shadow - what Dave said! I always knew the DIC was off after the Vector tune. Good to know that my new tune will be more accurate. However, no doubt the forced air gives better fuel mileage!

No Dave - I never verified the mileage. I just blindly trusted my DIC.

AZ - Yes I will be selling it. It has less than 3000 miles on it. I'll post it once I remove all the components.
