   Hahn Stage 2 - 273 RWHP!

Well, I picked up my car from Hahn's shop today and am very happy with the results! I had them remove the cat and put in a custom downpipe. Bill then completely re-tuned the car. Final numbers were 273 HP/263 Torque. The car went in at 236 HP/239 Torque! It was tuned down some going in, so it wasn't all from the cat removal. Bill said it is peaking at 10PSI boost now. After the tune, I can definitely feel a big power gain and it also runs much smoother than before. It is louder than before, which is exactly what I wanted.

Next step will be Stage 3 upgrade and possibly the high boost option. That would put me around 330-340 RWHP. I could then compete with the Vette's!

At stage 2 - do you have the ability to monitor the afr at 10 lbs boost? I ask because you are probably near the limit of fuel delivery without the stage 3 boost fueler.

No, I don't have the ability to monitor the AF ratio. Bill said that it just peaked at 10PSI, but was below that for most of the run.

Congrats on the Stage 2.....just wondering, you mention the high boost option and Stage 3. First, what is the high boost option and second, I thought it only applied to Stage 4 installs ?

Any info/thoughts ?

High Boost Option is a thicker head gasket, some valve timing parts to adjust for the increase in head height, and stiffer valve springs. I am pretty sure the high boost option is for stage III and IV only.

I'll post some info on this in a thread in our Hahn RaceCraft section soon, with dyno results too. Thanks everyone!

Here's what byronsky's car looked like on the dyno.

A very broad, usable torque curve, that actually is available at much lower RPM than the dyno runs are capable of indicating, a characteristic that can be seen on videos in this thread:

Hahn RaceCraft Turbo Response

And of course, great top-end Turbocharged performance!

The thread in our Hahn RaceCraft section is:

Stage II on Steroids

Congrats! Your car started as an 06-08 N/A...is it an auto or manual?

Cheers

I'll jump in here for byronsky...It's a 2007 2.4L MTx Sky.

Thank you too!

The car works very well. It's got a decent set of rolling stock on it, and the fact that the turbocharged power is still gentle as it comes in means the car maintains traction nicely. The turbo cars can boost hard at low RPM, but the fact that their boost response is load-based rather than instantaneous means the cars stay hooked up well.

Put another way, it's like having an infinitely variable supercharger that you control with your right foot!

Well, I have had the car back for a week now and my opinion hasn't changed! This car is a blast to drive. The power is excellent all through the power band. My car has 20's on it, so traction is not an issue with all the rubber underneath me! I love the new sound also. Not too loud, but nasty sounding.
