Call whoever you bought the hi-flow cat from and ask them what they think..

Ordered the Solstice: Black with leather, steering wheel controls, A/C delete (who needs A/C in a convertible). Custom turbo kit, maybe!

Check your install. Sounds like you dont have it mounted and sealed well. My kit car used to backfire between gears when the doughnuts between the manifold and Y-pipe weren't sealed well.

Definitely sounds like a leak. Are you throwing any codes?

When was the last time you changed your air filter?? Also if it is a raspy sound that is the engine trying to breathe more air.

My filter had not been changed for 2 years, and I changed it and it went away. Also do you have an CAI?

i do have a new air filter. band spaking new fujita....i have a A.E.M cold air intake....the sound has gotten worse it now sounds like a leak...after 3x rpm's the sound goes away, but any thing below that it sound nasty.... back fire's happen only on 1st and 2nd gear. my high flow cat is from werks 3", so im thinking of getting a magna flow 3" dual exhaust..??? oh and yes it did throw a bad code but it has gone away....FOR NOW.

The cat bolts on to the frame at the bottom. Make sure this bolt is tight and you use locktite. It will vibarate and screw everything up.
