I currently am running Hahn Stage II - and LOVE IT!!! I'm wondering if I should make the move up to Stage III.
I'm very happy with Stage II, but I'm sure the additional boost will be awesome. I really like my Stage II because it seems to be a very "street friendly" turbo. There is plenty of usable "street" power. There are minimal maintenance changes from my NA.
Is Stage III as street friendly as Stage II?
How much installation is involved with the upgrade from State II to Stage III?
(I installed my Stage II, didn't rush, took my time, took me about 16 hours - I don't consider myself an auto mechanic)
Do I need to adjust my waste gate and blow off valve to account for the additional boost of Stage III?
Will I need to upgrade my radiator? I currently have the stock Solstice radiator.
Will I need to upgrade my clutch?
Anything else I should know?

Call Hahn up and they will answer your install questions. I have the Stage IV and using the stock radiator and clutch with plans to up grade them at a later date. My experience is that premium pump gas at 93 where I live will only let you boost to about 10Lbs after that you will need some race gas to prevent denotation and that will only get you to about 13lbs of boost and then the head kit will be required boosting beyond that.

If that's true, then I wouldn't be interested in going beyond Stage II. I don't want to deal with race gas, etc. Does anybody else have experience on this? I know that many others are running Stage III and Stage IV turbos. Thanks.

The difference between stage II and III is about 3psi of boost on 93 octane fuel. Or about 30 horsepower. I could tell the difference right away. Also you might look into the water/meth injection to go to higher boost levels without race gas. You can safely run up to 14 or 15 psi with the stock valve springs.
As far as daily driving, it's no different, just more power when you want it. I have the stage IV with the valve spring kit and can go all the way up to 19 or 20 psi with race gas and it still feels the same as my stage II did when not driving it hard. I actually think my stage IV idles better than my stage II did.
If you are interested in going to stage III. Check with Carlintexas as he just pulled his III upgrade kit and is selling it as he went with a DDM setup.

I would recommend a Greddy boost controller with the stage III and a Dashhawk so you can explore the limits of your setup. The upgrade cost from II to III is 859.00 on turbokits.com
Give me some details about the valve spring kit:
- Where to buy
- Any tips on the install
- Any special ECM setup from Hahn to get the 20 psi boost?
Have you dynoed your car with race gas and 20psi boost?

Call Bill on the spring kit.
I did not install mine as I bought the car from Hahn already setup.
The ECM does require a Stage IV tune.
I have not had it dynoed, but Bill did before I got it and here is the result with 19psi of boost.
I have run the car at this power level and I have to tell you... It's freakin crazy fast. I pulled a 12.49 with street tires and full exhaust at that power level.

I'd be happy to answer your questions in detail, Shadow. As you mentioned, we've got many of these setups out there, and they've proven to be very popular.
Shoot me a PM, email me, or give me a call!

ClearBraInstall,
Are those great dyno numbers for a stage III like setup?
Meaning I could make those numbers without having to change out the Turbo (16G?).
Bill,
Sorry I didnt return your call a while back. Just ran out of personal bandwidth (and cash) to do anything at the time, and didnt want to waist your time (knowing how valuable it is for all of us in the working world). I'm still in the hunt on what I'm going to do next and the cash situation is slowly recovering.
If I dont have to change out the Turbo to make the 350whp, this would make it real interesting for me.
All that aside, Bill, I do like your style!!!!! Turbo all the way!!!!

Those numbers are on a Stage IV with the 20G turbo. I am not sure what you would get if you just did the valve train upgrade on the stage III. You would have to ask Bill. I also believe you don't actually have to change out the whole turbo to go from 16G to 20G. I think it's just a compressor upgrade, but Bill would have to clarify.

Lol K So I Took My Mothers 2007 Solstic GXP To The Drag Strip And After Learning How The Car Reacted And What The Cars Best Launches Where I Ended Up With A Fast Time Of 13.9 101 MPH This Was Done At Around 6000 Ft Elevation. I Looked Up The Stats And It Said Pro Driver Sea Level Was 14.2 99 MPH. So My Question Is Has Anyone Else Ran Their GXP At A Drag Strip And What Times Did You Get... .............To get the 13.9 101 took a special type of launch wide open shifts and double clutching through 4th gear.......O Ya Car Is All Stock
