SolTex, thanks for the info. For some reason, CBD and I don't get the emails. We made some phone calls and we're in. See you there.
Have a great time! I will be at SEMA on Friday and can't get back in time. Will miss being the brunt of your comments this time

Seriously, have a good time and I hope the weather is nice.

Wish I was closer. :(

I did not get the email yet, maybe because the car is still in dealer's name. I've been to that Westin Hilton a couple of times and it is top notch. Enjoy your weekend.

(added) I checked the schedule of events posted by SD and now another reason I should go, Bobby Rahal is honoray chairman. ( I knew him back when the training wheels came off)

We're registered! My wife and I honeymooned at Hilton Head back in May 1976, and this will be our first time back ... and what a way to return - in style.

I love HH and it is a very short drive from Savannah, GA
Too bad you are just a few miles further away right now. Your wife could probably use the vacation with you away though.

I would ask if you have an idea when you come back, but I remember the poster from when I enlisted about loose lips sinking ships. Or was it all of those AFN commercials? :leaving:

I can only say that we arrived in Jan of this year, which is public knowledge ... so you can guestimate my return date from that time frame. I will just be glad once this constitutional/election stuff is over (in Iraq). ;)

I will only say that I am confident that I will be home in time to see the 2007 Sky, or Sol roll out!

What exactly is Pontiac/GM celebrating?

This is ridiculous.

Did they decide to do this back in the Spring before all the delays in producing this vehicle? Or is it some kind of face saving exercise to make the Execs feel good by surrounding themselves with happy Solstice owners.

Instead of inviting people who have their cars, how about doing anything to hold onto the customers with orders who have seen delay after delay. Lived with six months of no information whatever.

For me ths is the last straw, talk about arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. GM/Pontiac, I am not waiting until next year so your can put my order aside again in favour of shipping another car to Florida.

I give up you win you can keep your car.

The Wife and I are in. We took delivery of our Solstice on Friday 10/14 - but will fly to Savanah from DFW via AirTrans. Looking forward to meeting those that can make it. Sounds like a very special event with only the first 100 to register allowed to attend.

I was wondering if anyone knows if this event is all booked up? We are already registered; I'm just curious ... maybe we should do a poll so we can easily see who from the Forum will be there?

#23 ·
Looks like only 5 indicated they were going on this thread. Since some got the e-mails and some didn't I'm not sure what the qualifier was. Was it 1st 1k? Perhaps the travel agency Solstice used would know the current count. I have to believe this is going to be better than Detroit was and that one was really nice. Notice the agenda says there will be an 'event collectable' given at the champagne reception.

#24 ·
I never got an e-mail, so who knows what the criteria was for this event.

#25 ·
My understanding is that eMails went to the 1000 First 1000 Exclusive Retail Order Solstices "buyers". Basically the only group GM can contact.

Dealerships received a copy of the message last week (Thursday Night?), and where told that they could share it with any Solstice owner/buyer.

#26 ·
Well SD, as you know I am in that group however I did not received the e-mail, I also believe there were a couple of other members that mentioned the same thing.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
