ECM Code 0236 ?

Brethren,
I picked up my 2007 GXP today @ the GM dealer, after having a GMPP tune installed. As soon as I started the car, I noticed the chk engine light was on,& had the tech chk what was causing the issue & the gauge showed a code of 0236.Left the car for further review.

Curious as to what it may be.

I will give you this much.... It has to do with the new MAP sensors they put on it. It's in the very first post from the solstice forum if you use the google search line in the upper right corner.

HINT: DO NOT let them charge to fix the code!! If you would have had someone send you the tune, you could have bought the plugs for the sensors...instead the dealer has "crimped" them, which means in 2 years, you're going to have to solder the wires.....Or you call the dealer and have them solder the wires.

So what your saying is the dealer should have supplied the new plugs in the first place. I thought that new plugs came with tune kit anyway

The dealer doesnt use the plug adapters. They cut and "crimp" the wiring to the new MAP sensors. If you had done this on your own, you could have gotten the MAP sensors and adapter plugs for about $190....then the tune for about $250. Saving you about $500. I'm pretty sure the dealer charged you at least $800???

Probably a unique, or at least rare, case, but I have an uninstalled GMPP tune that will end up at about $300.
I got the sensors and certificate for $200 and there will be about an hour of shop time.

Brethren,
You are correct on that figure, I am not as adept as I used to be on my mechanical skills any more. Last time I worked on a car to get more horses , I just advanced the distributer spark!
The car is still at the dealer, so, we'll see how it works out. But really, crimping the wires? Honestly!

Crimping is actually more reliable than soldering overall, because it is easier to correctly crimp than it is to correctly solder.
Improperly soldered wires are subject to vibration-induced cracking because excess solder makes the wire very brittle.
