Can anyone tell me the best product to use to get super fine scratches out of the headlight lens?
I would like to get it to look factory. have been working with meguiars plastx but it is not doing the trick.still super fine scratches on the left side and factory on the right looks mirror finish
I have tried many different brands and use the Meguiars now. I've used Brasso, Neverdull, cerium oxide and several other brands. I've found that they all work but require a LOT of effort to begin with. My favorite is the cerium oxide (jewelers rouge). you can get enough to last a lifetime on ebay or amazon for just a few dollars.
Depending on the scratches, you may have to start with something more aggressive before using the polishing compound. 3000-grit (or even coarser) may have to be your starting point.
If you have scratches that catch your finger nail, then you will have to start with at least a 1500 grit wet sanding paper and then step down from there; so 1500, 2000, then 3000, then compound, then polish. then protection
