Maybe I am missing something (sorry late to the game), but on the first post this was given:

Model Year 2006
Experimental VIN = Located 78
First 1st 1000 VIN = 1G2MB33BX6Y000001
Last 1st 1000 VIN = 1G2MB33B26Y001000
First regular VIN = 1G2MB33B66Y100001
Last regular VIN = 1G2MB35B66Y120195
Total VIN = 21273

My VIN is 1G2MB33B26Y104238, I know my car isn't a 1k, but how can I have B26Y instead of B66Y? Is the "First regular VIN" maybe miss placed/typed?

You don't need to worry about the B2 or B6 part of the VIN, the last 8 characters of the VIN is a UNIQUE identifier to your vehicle. the "6Y104238" part of your VIN uniquely identifies your individual car: Model year 2006, Assembly plant Y, (Wilmington, Delaware), car number 4238 out of the regular production run of 2006s.

Hey Brad. Is like Dave wrote.

All I can add is that the question itself seems incorrect. Is like asking "Why did Daewoo stop producing the Solstice" :-)

As you can see in the attachment to Dave his post the combination "B26Y" has not much to do with the order a car is built.

B = Engine Type. "Always" B in Model Year 2006
2 = Check Digit. Can be 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 or X.
6 = Model Year. Always 6 for Model Year 2006
Y = Assembly Plant. "Always" Y, which stands for Wilmington

B26Y and B66Y is found in the First 1000 as well as in the not First 1000 cars.

Example of First 1000 cars are: 1G2MB33B26Y000039 and 1G2MB33B66Y000027
Example of not First 1000 cars are: 1G2MB33B26Y101064 and 1G2MB33B66Y101066

As far as I know that car is from Jan 27 2007 and before yours was built 34791 Solstice rolled off the assembly line.
