My VIN is 1G2MB33B26Y104238, I know my car isn't a 1k, but how can I have B26Y instead of B66Y? Is the "First regular VIN" maybe miss placed/typed?

All I can add is that the question itself seems incorrect. Is like asking "Why did Daewoo stop producing the Solstice" :-)
As you can see in the attachment to Dave his post the combination "B26Y" has not much to do with the order a car is built.
B = Engine Type. "Always" B in Model Year 2006
2 = Check Digit. Can be 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 or X.
6 = Model Year. Always 6 for Model Year 2006
Y = Assembly Plant. "Always" Y, which stands for Wilmington
B26Y and B66Y is found in the First 1000 as well as in the not First 1000 cars.
Example of First 1000 cars are: 1G2MB33B26Y
000039 and 1G2MB33B66Y
Example of not First 1000 cars are: 1G2MB33B26Y
101064 and 1G2MB33B66Y
