Well I’m back, after spending four spectacularly glorious weeks, free-as-a bird tooling along some of America’s best scenic drives. The roads I drove were twisty, hairpin, switchbacks, made from Portland concrete, asphalt, dirt and gravel, ranging from 2,000 feet to 12,980 feet elevation without guardrails.

Here's my intinerary:

1. Kansas City, MO for the 1st National Solstice Meet

2. Boulder, Colorado for a trip through the Rocky Mountain National Park with a sidewinder into Denver for the band Hot Tuna. - pics -posted
3. Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the Grand Tetons - pics- -posted

4. West Yellowstone, Montana for the Yellowstone National Park - pics -posted

5. Post Falls, Idaho for the Silverwood Theme Park

6. Hood River, Oregon for the Pacific Solstice’s Solli4meet to Mt. Hood -(pics on the Solli4meet thread) -posted

Colorado

Don't know why the pics are coming out different sizes. They're all resized to 900. I found a lot of "SOL" signs and of course, I had to take pictures of them.

Ah, one of my favorite spots in this country-too bad Longs is obscured by clouds-I hope you got to see the Front Range sans clouds :)

Sun broke for a little while but we were out of there by 6pm. It was magnificent and it certainly helped me deal with my fear of heights.
Smoking clutch on the way down, tho.

A Montana Rodeo 4 Rodeo

We went to a rodeo Saturday night to watch the bronco buckaroos try to stay mounted for 8 seconds. Barrel races and lasso contests, too. It was lots of fun ‘specially when the clown threw out the peanut bags to the kids.

Great Trip!

Glad you made it back safely. Look like you and the "Sheriff" had fun and saw some fantastic scenery.

We hope to see you at the next National.

Looks great solli. Now we know why you needed that luggage rack. :)

How many miles was that month long trip?

#25 ·
I put over 9,000 miles on Amelia and that rack worked great. My deepest gratitude goes to Sam Bird for his design and installation. I was stopped so many times by people inquiring about it that I lost count.
Comments were: "That's cool! Is it by GM? (Nope) "Wow, neat luggage carrier". etc.

Great pictures. THANK YOU!
Also, what a great way to connect with your child and enjoy the good ol' USA.
