Sounds like the dealer has to beat away buyers with a stick!

At that price he will have to wait another eight to ten years.

Personally, I enjoy driving mine to much to ever consider selling it.

Just curious... Does anybody here know what's the highest price ever been paid for a couple?

I only know of an auto GXP being sold for 42k a few years ago, however, it was factory pristine, window sticker still on, no miles and a rare color (Mean Yellow).

Don't forget about the two 2010s that have been for sale for years now. Both GXPs, both manuals, both currently $67,900. But the prices have fluctuated by several thousand dollars up and down through the years.
Moremusclecars - GM (bottom of page). BTW, 2010 production cars were assembled at the same time as the 09s production, and it was the 09s that were the last off the production assembly line.

If I remember correctly the last MY2010 rolled off the line late may 2009 and after that about one hundred more MY2009 Solstice roadsters until late July 2009.
...and the second-to-last Kappa off the assembly line was coupe #1152, followed by the final vehicle, a grey roadster.

for $45,250. The ad said the car had 34 miles on it.

Yeah. Probably worth $10K less than their asking price with that dealer tramp stamp on the bumper. Those things are the worst.

When I showed up to pick up my car, new, the dealer had put an 'advertising' plate on it. I told the they I hadn't authorized them to put anything on my car and to remove it before I took delivery. They assured me that it would just come off and leave no damage to the paint. I asked for a written guarantee that they would repair/repaint any damage caused if I had to remove it myself and they declined.

I had to tell them that I would be sitting in the sales manager's office until they removed it and I had inspected and approved it before I took possession.

Bunch of wankers! Probably typical.

Current fleet:
1957 Jamaican bodied MGA
1958 MGA Twin Cam (race car)
1962 MGA Deluxe Coupe
1971 Jensen Interceptor
2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe
2007 BMW Z4M coupe
Recently departed: 1965 Jensen CV8, 1969 Lamborghini Islero S, 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT, 1969 MGC roadster

Why buy a car that’s been defaced for advertising purposes and not somehow be reimbursed? I spent much of my life in San Diego and never once saw a dealership brand a car, new or used, with their mark. Never saw it in Oregon until recently so I simply refuse to do business with any place that does it.

The dealers here will put them on unless you ask them not to. I have always made it a condition of the sale and none has ever protested or even really complained.

Most people frankly don't care whether it it there or not.

I like the dealerships that put on a license plate frame with their name on it. I'm so appreciative that they didn't put stickers etc on the paintwork, that I'll actually leave them on!

back in the 'early' days (at least the 60s) they had dealer names that were installed by drilling holes in the body and then pushing the name plate studs into the holes... at least the present 'stickers' are reasonably removable

I think in those days all trim was attached with rivets, snaps, or screws that required holes in the bodywork. It is a definite improvement.
