trunk latch adjustment

yesterday down in corning i got a little too excited and shut my trunk with the towel that i use to protect the top caught in the latch mechanism. i tried to shut it a couple times before i realized what the problem was. now the trunk is really hard to shut. it goes to the normal flush position but i get the "trunk open" warning and when i hit the release i can tell it wasn't really latched. if i slam it really hard it will latch but the trunk lid looks to be sitting almost 3mm lower than it should. i tried adjusting the rubber bumpers on the sides but then it won't latch at all. i'm thinking i bent the latch slightly out of position. i messed with it a little tonight but couldn't see any way to adjust the latch itself. should i be grabbing a pry bar right about now?
oh yeah, it is pretty much the same with the top up or down.

The latch is replaceable and adjustable. It sounds like it moved down during the incident. Loosen the bolts and move it up slightly
